Are you repairing or preparing?

According to one of my favorite motivational speakers, most people approach their lives very passively that we take a reactive approach to living instead of proactive ones. He added that as if we are waiting for something but the sad truth is, life is not a dress rehearsal. And I agree because we don't have a second chance to live again.
Let's take a look at how we approach our life, is it reactive or proactive? According to John Maxwell, if it's reactive, we end up focusing on repairing while if it's proactive we focus on preparing. If we prepare, we focus today, if we repair, we focus on yesterday.
So, what would you choose that will take you to a higher level?
I was very passive I must admit but upon learning this, I take chances to seek and prepare what will better me and what will make me grow as a person and as an individual.

I have my moments, I can be reactive or proactive. Proactive always when it came to studying, reactive too much when it came time for looking for the right job for me, and for that I regret many of the decisions I made in the area of working.

Hi jeanniemay! That is very interesting! As I finished your post, I focused and reflect really on what I am doing with my life. I have been contemplating and guess what, after being a very aggressive businesswoman for so long..I stumbled on hurdles and somewhere along the way, I became a passive person in dealing with life. I know that I have been focusing and preparing for the future but there is still this thing that I can' really point out to you that makes me stop and wait for awhile...I guess, it's time for me to lead my own life. hi jeanniemay. i believe that i am both repairing and preparing in my state of life right now. i have so many things to repair in my past but i am also looking forward to my future. i think that a person can do both because nobody has a perfect life or has a smooth life. life can take twist and bends and we can always go back to the past and smooth things out and also prepare for tomorrow.
