why do christians where a cross on there neck?

Hi questionsnoanswers, Some Christians like to wear a cross on their neck. I think it's mainly Catholics. Some feel that it helps them in their faith, others think it protects them from harm. Some probably think of it as a jewellery item. Blessings.

Wear a cross on my neck???? Never worn a cross on my neck before and not intending to. In my opinion is how we walkout in our everyday life is more important. I received 2 gold crosses for my 21st birthday. I converted the gold cross into cash years later.Never worn them. But then again, wearing a cross is not wrong, not wearing a cross is also not wrong.

Our church doesn't use the cross for any thing. The cross it's self is a pagan symbol that has been around long before Christ was crucified. Christ is no longer on the cross and the cross is so irrelevant. What is more important is that he rose from the grave. So I wonder why people don't wear a symbol of the grave?

I sometimes wear a cross on my neck as a symbol that I am a Christian. But, I heard a pastor at my church say that he doesn't think people should wear crosses as it's not a very accurate symbol. My church doesn't use crosses as a symbol for Christ, but a dove, which represents Christ and the Holy Spirit. I am Pentecostal and the Holy Spirit is considered the main force for the church, which is based on the Acts of the Apostles listed in the book of Acts.

Wearing a cross or not is not a big deal. It is walking out your daily life that matters. A person with a cross but has no lifestyle of Christ is just an embarassment & a hypocrite. But if one who wears a cross & walks a Godly life, he's a wonderful testimony. I rest my case as this is not a topic of debate ;) Action speaks louder than words.
