Do you die if you hit the ground?

It is said that if you dream you are falling, you always wake up before you hit the ground. If you hit the ground in your dream then you are actually dead.
Now I don't have a lot of expertise in this area, but I occasionally fell out of my bed during middle school and would dream I was falling as I actually fell. I did, in fact, hit the ground and it woke me up.
It occurs to me that we will never know what the person who died was dreaming. We could, however, find out if anyone has actually hit the ground in their dream and lived to talk about it.
So, here it is. Have you ever dreamt you were falling and if you did, did you wake up before you hit the ground in your dream?

hi i have heard this also, i think it is an old wives tale tho as i have a book about dreams and it says that if you dream about dying it doesnt actually mean you are going to die, it means the start of a new benging, this could mean anything, new life, new job etc. im not much into dreams tho so dont quote me on that its just something i read there are pleanty of good websites if you want to research dreams tho.

I started a funny discussion here my husband fall down from bed in funny way first I feel they fall down in real but after they said me I was in dream with girl friend hehe...and I feel besides me a witch is sleeping and pushing me.. Nice you have also experience of falling down from bed but school time not after mriage okkk nice.
