Someone called me a writer on Helium and I had to think about it, but after awhile, it grew on me. Writers were what other people did, but now I'm writing. So yeah, I guess in a small way, I'm becoming a writer. So when did you...

shizuoka So far, I've had four articles published on Associated Content and have submitted a short story that may be published in a national magazine. I'm still working on my novel. I wish I didn't get so distracted. I seem to have trouble focusing on more than a...

shizuoka I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't been through that particular pain yet, but I can empathize. My parents are that rock for me and I dread the day that anything happens to either of them. Maybe by cherishing those wonderful memories, there will be a...

shizuoka Queen is the one band that always lifts my spirits. No matter how I am feeling, if I put in their greatest hits CD, I find myself feeling more upbeat and singing along.

shizuoka That is a lot and it costs a lot to study as well. You are probably wise to wait, even though it is difficult. I wanted to go back to school and get a Ph.D. in Linguistics. I got accepted to a program and was about to move my family to another town and put...

shizuoka Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with 'Leave it to Beaver' parents. :) In a perfect world, all parents would be loving, attentive and completely impartial. We just do what we can with what we're given. It's too bad that your grandmother couldn't hide...

shizuoka That is very sad, but we can't pick our families. At least you are raising your kids in a loving environment and that will help shape their futures. Perhaps you will have a chance to be a loving grandma one day.

shizuoka I'm sorry for your loss. It's very difficult to lose someone so close. It's great, though, that you had the chance to really get to know them while they were alive. I imagine that you will cherish those relationships forever.

shizuoka You're so right. It didn't occur to me as a child that they would be gone one day and I wouldn't be able to get to know them better. Now that I'm older, there are a million things that I would like to talk to them about.
