In our country, donations are taken to permit a student to to get admission in schools.I think, your country is also facing this problem.Yesterday,my neighbour's son was asked to give a donation about 2.5 lacs(I do not know the currency of your country). His parents only wanted to get his admission in Class 1 and the authority asked such a huge amount. As you know that India's people has financial problems,I do not like this donation system. The school is taking donations not for the candidate is undeserving but they are simply asking about the donation. This problem is not in one school but almost in every school.Parents want to see their children studying in well reputed school and for this reason they are forced to give such huge amount.I cannot beleive that I have to witness this in country like India.

I live in the United States and can understand that the system isn't fair. Its a real problem with parents being asked to pay out so much more today at every school. This year parents are being asked to give money for their children's teachers salary. Many teachers are going to lose their jobs in this state. Personally, I think it should depend on what the donation is for each time. I'm willing to pay some to keep a good teacher from being let go now. If we lose our best teachers, then our children will suffer with a poorer education.

i think parents skip applying for certain schools even though they provide quality education due to donations..people are very money minded..atleast certain schools consider the marks and give admissions for desired students...most of the schools do not have any criteria for selecting students for admission..in addition to the fees being more,if donations are also been asked its difficult for middle income households and they lose the chance of being getting quality education...i think its high time people abolish donations in schools..parents literate or illiterate want their children to get educated well more than what they are educated and donations act as a curse for any country...
