What brand and model is your camera?

Im just wondering what brand and model of camera you are using for taking photos. Does it perform very well? Prior having or purchasing it, do you have any preference of any type of camera you would like to have, or how did you manage to chose one? At the moment, Im using Sony and Olympus digital compact cameras which are "point and shot" units. Frankly, compact cameras like Sony and Olympus are dependable and easy to carry. Well, you can visit my flickr site to find some of these images taken from these cameras at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/digital_explorer/sets/

I currently have a Nikon "D40x". I know that there is a big debate on which is better nikon or cannon but I don't to join that band wagon. I'd like to say that both are great in their on way. I actually ended up with my camera by accident. I was supposed to buy a different model. when I ask for that particular model the store's clerk gave me a different cam. I started to try it out and I loved it so I got the Nikon Digital - SLR, I fell in love with it ever since. I like the pictures that I take with it. I really got my money's worth!

Well at the moment i don't have a professional camera even though i would love to get one, i use a digital camera at the moment, a samsung l83T 8 M.P digital camera and i have to say it's working fine for me so far. It's small and lightweight and does a good job for, until i can get my professional one it suits me fine.

I have an Olympus SP510UZ. It is a prosumer camera. It has a long zoom (at the time when I first bought it) and lots of manual tweaking like a DSLR. I can also use it like any point and shoot cameras. Another camera I use is Kodak Easyshare 710. Another prosumer camera with lots of manual tweaking. I use both camera sparingly. As I'm into macro photography, I will bring them along when I go to shoot insects and butterflies in the woods and bushes. They may be bulky but do not need any extra lenses, so they are easy to carry around.

I use a Nikon D70. After getting seriously into photography for a few years, I decided it was time to upgrade to a DSLR. I had a Nikon mount lens that my mom had given me, so I figured it would be best to get a Nikon body... since I already had a lens for one! At the time I was deciding between a Nikon D70 or a Nikon D50. My previous two digital cameras (a 1 megapixel HP point and shoot and a 3 megapixel Canon point and shoot) both took Compact Flash memory cards, so I had a LOT of CF cards. The D70 took CF cards, but the D50 took SD cards. Because I already had a lot of memory cards, I decided to go with the D70! Not long after I had made that decision, a photographer on a forum I post on announced he was selling his D70 because he had just purchased a D200. So I contacted him and told him I was interested in buying his camera. I've had that camera for a few years, and I absolutely love it! I am planning on upgrading to a Nikon D300 in the near future, but I plan on keeping my D70 as a backup camera.

Very informative and it seems that you are enjoying your photography stuff. Yeah, I would love to have a SLR unit but not at the moment. I still prefer to have the compact one for travelling. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

hmm so what do you guys think would be best for someone who is just starting out with photography? I want a digital camera, but I have no idea which one to choose! I have been looking at some websites, but i usually get distracted by the looks of specific cameras and forget about quality! haha But I am interested in getting something compact, durable, and easy to use. Any suggestions?

Well, try to read my review on choosing the right camera to suit your need or your interest. This is the link. http://www.travelblog.org/Forum/Threads/8297-1.html Good luck, but dont forget this: it is not the model or brand of the camera that works, but it is the person behind the lens that is important! Starting shooting and share your photos!

I have a samsung 360 digi cam. My bf gifted it to me on my last birthday. It has advance shake reduction facility and six megapixel camera. I really like my cam as it satisfies all my needs. Have a nice day ~pinks~

I used an Olympus one and the pictures' qualities were good! After it fell apart, I currently use Nikon PS5000. I just love it! It might not be as small, but I can grip very well and the quality of the photos are just excellent. Actually before I bought it, I went online and read a bunch of reviews on the camera. It was given 95% positive comments by the professionals!

I have a kodak p850 and kodak z700. I REALLY want a DSLR either Nikon or Canon. I'm not real sure yet... but I don't have the money for it right now but i'm hoping maybe within the next year or so I could get one. I want to start trying to get jobs for photography but I can't till i get the right equipment.

I have sony 7 megapixel digital camera. It is a pretty good camera, I have captured many cool pictures. I am not a professional photographer, but I can capture cool pics with that camera. Now with digital cameras we can capture like professionals:)

Here is an example of what I can do with my camera - I took this photo at night with a long exposure. It captured the streaking headlights of the buses and cars in the area.
I have a Canon 350D Digital Rebel. It's a great camera, especially for the price. I have a 50mm f1.4 lens and the color accuracy is so good. I can't believe that Digital Cameras can take such good pictures. I was hesitant to buy a digital camera because I didn't think the quality could ever be good as a traditional film SLR.
