Some people think that going to the university is the best way to be successful. This situation maybe true in the past time.At that moment when a person graduated from university our country would distribute a wonderful job for him. That is so-called "golden bowl".So nearly every parents try their best to force their children to work hard in study no matter they love it or not.In school teachers also forced students to study. They comment students in terms of their results in study. While as the time past, there are a lot of graduaters from University. There is not enough work for them. Then it is very hard to find job.Even so parents still force their children to go to university. Then as a students they lives dull and bad.The result is that after graduation they become unemployment. So I do not think University is the best way to be successful.Let us think what is the purpose we wanna go to university. That mostly is to find a steady job and earn money. So I think if we develop our interest or our special features we can still live a good life. What do you think about it?

Hi jeanie! I don't think going to university is the best way to be successful. A lot of successful businessman left school when they found there were some business opportunities, so you have a new idea and find the new field, you can have a try. Going to university can get a higher degree, it is easier for you to get a higher position in one corporation, but a higher degree don't stand for you are efficient. If a person who didn't finish his education in university or even high school, but he is interested in this field, learned it deeply himself and have work experience, I think most of bosses will choose him to do this job. So going to university is just one way for people to find a good job, if you want to be successful in your career, you must continue to learn in the work.

ME TOO I dont think that the University is the best way to be successful coz there so many ways for the person to be success in life . As for me me when I was graduated from high school, my parents forced me to study Engineering coz they think that this career if the best way for the person to be successful . That is what is going on here in my country and in the midleast in general that just Medic and Engineering are the best and other fields are nothing . So I chosed to study English and now i could consider myself as a successful man coz im doing what i already chosed

uhhh.. No. It doesn't. Coming to any Interview for a job, although a degree from a good university gives an added advantage, it all depends on how you respond to the interviewers to get the job. A person who has studied in the best of the best, but doesn't know how to communicate might not get the job, but on the other hand, a person who's from a not so god university, but has enough grades and other skills, might get thorough instantly. Its all personal effort that we put in. Well yes in the past, students and parents used to stress and pressurize students to study better and get into the best University, but now trends have changed cos employers want more than Book worms and geeks. They want people who are Jack Of all Trades, Master Of Many". So, it all depends on how a person spends his time working on his future. There are a lot of things in life that we can do rather than find a desk job , sitting in front of the PC writing programs etc. It depends on personal interests as well. There are many options available to a person who really wants to be successful. bourne

From you view I see that you prefer the communication and the experience of the person when they find a job.Yep That all reflect a person's competent. So if a person have excellent personal quality,he can handle the situation and make things turnt over. Then Going to the university is not the best way,it depends on one's ability.

University is a 20th century invention designed to give you limited skills. I am completely agree with you University is not the sure shot way for getting success. Everybody has the same reason to go to university and that is to get a good job and earn. In order to be successful you need to be more than average or in other words stand apart from the crowd. We need to focus on talents that makes us different. Only then we will be successful or otherwise we will waste our talent for univsersity schooling. Dont let your schooling interfere with your education.

You meaning is that make you the diffenence from others then you will be a successor.I do not think so.We should make us some different but not have a distance with the crowd.Becouse our success is on the basis of them.Good friendship is an important element.Nowdays we emphasize the team-work.

It still counts, although not that important as before, especially for the poor. If I don't have money, and my parents don't have that kind of relationship to find me a good job. The only thing i can do is to work hard and earn myself sth. You will not always get a good job for entering university, but i have to say, it is in university that we build up part of our knowledge, perceptives and character. And also, good universities are still play a great part in job hunting period. Yeah, students who enters the university are becoming more and more, but i find that being enrolled in a famous university is still very diffult, at least not an easy thing.

Yep that means a good relationship and background will be very easy for one to successful.Compared a person born in the king's family with a poor and humble boy. Their fate is evident. It seems that it is unfair in the world, but noone can handle it.They all admire it.LOl

Having a degree is just one of the factors to be successful. But there are still more ways. One way is to stay determined and focus with your dreams. You must be sure where to go in the future. Set your plans in order and do it wholeheartedly with the good people around you.

yes give yourself a target to go in the future. But the dream should be practical,if not you will pay the most. Anymore,do as you like is the most important thing.

going to university can give you an advantage in worker salaries. but if you are someone with enough enterprising you can easily succeed without it. By example the famous Ben&Jerry's ice cream presidents and owners are school dropouts, one from medical college and still they got a big successful and growing company. Sure higher education is better for everyone even if you don't apply it daily, but not fully needed in business.

Higher degree is only to say that you maybe have learnt a lot but no experience. When you graduate that means you should get a new start. Yep enough enterprising is important but not stands for everything. To be successful one should have more skills and high competency.friendship nowerdays becomes more evident.LOL

yes it could be one way to be successful...feeding your mind can lead your way to success...but not all the time it can mean you graduated your successful..on my case i didn't graduate...i'm not yet successful but i'm determined to be one soon...but i got a job that pays a good one...having a degree can mean something but having such ability and determination can mean a lot...so its upon a person's discretion to whether they plan to be successful or not...i got some friends who graduated but end up jobless...some had their jobs but not the exact nature of their degree...got some friends also who didn't graduate but are successful and owns their own business because of their credibility and ability to look forward of being successful...so it really depends on how the person will work it out...

I think I'm going to college next year so they profs can give me books, and then give me tests on the material. Unfortunately, the US System implies that I will also take BS Humanities classes which I find irrelevant to my studying to be an electrical engineer. Tons of lib-arts professors who profess illogical beliefs in class, I don't care for it. Also, I don't care for school funds going to building Women's Resource Centers, GLBT centers, etc.. I want to learn, not to fund their "learning environment."

Yep,that means that your country wanna to make you know-all.LOL.But it indeed will make you more pressure right? Knowlege will not be a waste to learn, although it seems to have no relovence with your major. But oneday you may use it. May you pass the exam successful.

the school you attended is not the basis of how successful you will be, but the skills and knowledge that you've learned while studying.. so i think it's not always true that universities are the best way to succeed.. it still depend on the person whether he/she will make the most out of the opportunity

Indeed if a person takes the advantage to learn knowledge and skills he will be easier to success. But the opportunity and friendship are also very important. So University is only one step to success not the only way.

My sister studied languages at university. She was there for four years, including a year abroad. When she graduated she was not qualified for anything so she did a further two or three years learning and job experience to qualify as a librarian. She still works in a library. I learned to type at school and went straight to work when I left. I have had more than one career since then. At one time I had several graduates working under me. I studied part time and gained a degree many years after leaving school. Having a degree was not necessary for work, but it did give me some new skills, knowledge and abilities.

Yes we should emphasize the process of learning but not the target.Degree is easy to abtain in a university nowerdays so some colledge students pay no attention to the knowledge. They just thought of gatting the degree when graduate that is enough. After graduating they found nothing to do.

Its not the BEST way but it is a way to be successful. Here in the Philippines, its hard to find a job if you havent graduated from college. The system values education so it is a requirement...

i can't say that going to the uni is the way to be successful... but it is one of the requirement and tool for you to be successful... nowadays, experience is also very important... without experience, a lot of companies wouldn't want to hire people nowadays... so i think there should be a balance of knowledge and skills to be successful...

Yep,university is only a method we choose to enlarge our knowledge and skills.Experience is the practises we accumulated in the real job. So they are also important. But enlarge our knowlege is not only to go to university, right?

Hi jeaniezheng, A university education will not guarantee a better paying job, indeed many tradespeople make more money. A university degree often means a better opportunity to move ahead in one's field. I think it really depends on what you are looking for in life, if your main goal is to make a lot of money, university is probably not for you. Blessings.

Oh! Do you mean that going to university is abosolutely not making money? I think nowerdays earnings by brains is still higher than by physical.
