Branded or Not ... ?

When you shop for your home groceries and your personal stuffs, do you particularly purchase those of the branded goods or just any local brands will do ? I find that some people really are very particular about the brand of goods they purchase. Mainly of those in the premium brand category. But, as for myself, any brand that is reliable and practical will be fine. I do not particularly need to choose certain branded ones. How about you ?

it really depends what it is. for most things, generic is fine with me,but there's a few products i buy the name brand because they're consistant. my mom on the other hand HAS to have the name brand,or she will cry until she has it.she insists it doesn't work.but in some cases, both the generic and the name brand are made by the same company.

I'm not also into brands so much although I have been wanting to have a nike shoes. Well, I go for the quality and practicality when buying things. If a premium brand has the same quality with the local brand I'd go for the local one that costs less.

It all depends on what I need to buy and how much money that I have to spend. I buy name brand things when I can afford it. I also buy the cheaper brands if they are just as good. there are just some things you have to buy name brands for though to make sure they are high quality.

Only on certain items am I particular of a certain brand name. Like frozen pizza. Even some brand names are awful, the best brand name is Degorinos (sp?)

There are some things that I will buy whatever brand is on sale, but other things I will only buy certain brands. I will only buy Del Monte canned Mandarin oranges now, since I have found that they are of the best quality of the ones I have purchased. I will only buy Nestle or Hershey's chocolate. I find the store brand ones to be too gritty tasting. Other things like bread I will buy what ever is cheapest most of the time.

I always shop for brands that I know. One that I have either seen a comercial for or have heard about from others. Sometimes I will buy the lesser know brnads if the have on sale for a really goood price.

Hi rickysltan, I prefer branded ones. Because if anything found wrong in those branded stuffs, I can always get a replacement, which is not possible with other stuff. It happened long time before, that I purchased a stuff not of a recognised brand and found the material inside of very low quality. When I went back to return it, the grocery shop owner said he can give replacement only after he receives a replacement from the manufacturer. From then onwards I have switched over to recognised brands. Good Luck.

i tend to stick with the brands of food that have given me the best quality for my money and some of them are premium and a lot are even store brands. It really depends on just what Iam buying.Soome types of foods I tend to stick to the best brands while stuff like toilet tissue and paper goods I use the store brands instead. I often test store brands then find some I do not like so go back to the brand that I do liked.

I look for the quality and the reputation of the product rather the 'brand name' alone. some branded products costs more because you are paying for the name, not because they have better quality than the cheaper nameless brands. you really have to look closely and check for the quality. I dont mind paying more as long as its worth the price.

well actually my wife decides what to buy. sometimes we use branded stuffs specially when we know that is more effective or if we are used to it already. in some cases we use generic brands too. for example laundry soap we are more satisfied with tides performance so we always buy it, we are also satisfied with baygon when it comes to cockroach or raid. in coffee we prefer Nascafe. but on other stuff like butter we buy the practical or the generic brands.

You could say I am just a smart shopper. I would look for quality, durability, dependability and good value for your money rather than go for just the name. Branded goods does not really mean you get good value for your money. Sometimes it is also the brand that you are paying for. Most often that not, you can have the same quality for an affordable price you just have to look for it. It is a matter of market scoping and research. A good indication of a good quality is its years of availability. Being in the market for a long time means that consumers are still happy with the product and has been tried and tested for generations already.

I usually go by price. Unless I have used it before and have not liked it. I use walmart brand lavender baby shampoo. My kids have pretty sensitive skin and I use that as bubble bath. Walmarts head and shoulders isn't good enough so I guess its more or less are you willing to pay for the better product in some cases but if its just about the same why not get the cheaper one. I know I bought walmart brand sour cream for $1.66 and it was more sour cream then the brand name one and tasted the same.
