I don't understand, why would you want to pierce your four month year old daughter's ears.

Well since I was 11 when I got mine pierced and I passed out, I think there is a degree of pain involved. It is just children have a habit of pulling on other people's earrings (my sister used to do it to me and my Mam when she was little) so there is nothing stopping them pulling at their own ears and ripping them. It is just personal opinion, I just think it is too young. How do you know she even wants them pierced?

I wanted very much to get my daughter's ears pierced when she was little, but had to think twice about it, because as her father told me if God wanted her to have holes in her body, he would have put them there. It wasn't our choice to determine whether or not to make that decision. If later in life she wanted to have pierced ears then`it would be her decision to make. She did eventually decide, like most girls do, to get her ears pierced.

I did my little Olivia's ears when she was about 3 or 4 months old. and i think if you are going to do it then you should do it when they are young like that. i love her with her little earnings in, being that she is such a girlie girl now at 3, she loves them now too

My daughter is now 16 years old. I got her ears pierced when she was 2 months old. She now has several piercings in her ears. She has three on the lower part and two up above on the cartlidge. I'm glad I got my daughters done also when she was young. She didn't even flinch or cry.

your right. Its a lot easier. Sophia doesnt even mess with her ears. When they get toddler age they question everything and will mess with them therefore they might not heal as well!

I guess I am weird. I don't think its right to get a baby's ears pierced. I want to wait until my daughter understands what it is, and comes to me to ask for it to be done. I was 11 when I got my ears pierced the first time, and it was up to me to take care of them. I did pretty good too! They never got infected, and even now they never close up, although I don't wear earrings all that much.

Babies are the easiest to pierce, they don't really feel the pain, and they look gorgeous with earrings. So, why not?

yes i did. like someone wrote earlier, it's also a tradition at my place here to pierce our ears no matter how old we are as well as nose for girls which for me i've done both for myself. i pierced my son's ears when he was maybe around 9 months old. he cried for a while too but calmed down immediately after drinking my milk. i have a daughter nearing 2 months now. most likely i'll pierce for her after 6 months. if i do it too young, they can't really control their hands and sometimes itch their ears thus affecting the earrings as well. i also like baby boys especially with earrings. i don't know why, it just endears me to them even more. i feel like they look handsome. hehehe

I didnt get my daughter, 3, peirced until she was 1 1/2 but they always fell out and were so hard to put back in before the ear healed and worse, their sharp at the end and they will not give you the other kinds because they wont peirce. It was either getting caught on her blanket or when I was taking her clothes off and after the second peicing my bf stopped bothering with it. Thankfully, his sisters took her to get them peirced this year and they finally healed and leads me to wonder if the earrings were just not that good a quality because they seemed to heal much quicker when they had it done--a different state and it was the typical piercing pagoda and their earrings never fell out. My mother in law bought a really nice pair of ear rings for her in Turkey that lock and are really hard to get off, exactly what i wanted. Our second daughter, now 20 months, I really want to get her ear rings done but my bf doesnt want to now because of the experience with our first one but when their tiny earrings are adorable but basically the snagging is the reason we never got it done sooner. My sister did with her daughter she just had at less than 2 months and its cute but i just worry about infection but I don't get all wound up that someone else does it to their kids, come on--what about circumcision??

i got my ears pierced since i was a baby. and so did my sister. and most (if not all) my girl cousins and nieces. i can say it's in our culture. if you take good care of her and her piercings chances for infections are low. just clean them regularly. tips: avoid eggs and nuts in food in the first week after you got the ears pierced (my culture believed that they can trigger itchiness and the wound would heal slower. or so the girl who pierced my ears said) there are lots of cute earrings for little girls. make sure your girl don't have allergies to non-gold earrings. avoid nickel if you don't know if your child is allergic to it or not. you can get her 916 gold earrings or if your child can wear 925 silver that's a good thing too. or sterling silver, titanium and the like. known not to cause reactions.
