Do you Enjoy each moment or Worry about the Future?

I have been on what i call my lives journey, am I there yet? trip. In the process I have come across some wonderful knowledge that I have found life changing. I was never really much of a worrier, but i didn't make it my life's purpose to enjoy every single moment. The process of how each moments leads to the next moment and finding joy in that. I didn't understand that is what the meaning of life really is. Living in the moment awake and aware. Now that I know and have made this who I am, I have found that every moment is spent happy. I enjoy what i am doing, even those things i don't care for as much. So if you know this to be true, would you made sure you enjoyed each moment, or worry about the Future?

It's interesting momma, when you begin to realize this phenomenon, how you can look back over the events in your life and see how this life altering knowledge in action. You can see how one thing led to another when you look at the experiences in your past. While we don't choose to live there and begin to live 'in the moment', we realize how we arrived to where we are now. Through experience and a desire to become who we are meant to be, we look back on our past achievements and failures and begin to connect the dots, seeing how our decisions and actions brought on the need for other decisions and action. For every action (we perform) and every decision we make, there is an equally opposite RE-action that takes place. It's one of the natural 'laws' we take advantage of when we are unaware of this concept. It presents negative or positive results whether we are aware of it or not. To be aware of this concept and have the wisdom to work WITH it instead of against it, we can develope a natural positive response or action that becomes habitual to our nature. This is what developes a natural negative attitude or a natural positive one. When we can develope a natural positive response to every situation, we begin to recognize the 'blessings' that come to us in any situation. While situations can be seen as negative, we who develope this connection, can turn the negative situation into a positive reaction for our good - if we can see things the way they are intended for us to see. When a person developes this 'wisdom' working at making each moment a happy one eventually becomes a natural part of a person's make-up, making each moment naturally happy and joyous, even in situations others see as life altering. When a person can distinguish between those things that bring joy and those thing that they don't care for quite so much, they gravitate toward the things that are positive in life, leaving the negative things and people behind, looking forward to the prize...... (whatever they perceive that prize to be). I'm so happy that you are recognizing this 'choice' in your life. Happier still that you are making a conscious effort to have your own piece of that happiness. Way to go momma. You deserve a gold star!!!

I can always count on you to come and just take what i said and turn it into something even more beautiful. I must say. durning our wonderful friendship I have learned so many wonderful lessons, about myself, life, and those people i choose to share those moments with. I must say, when we were brought together through this site, I now understand I was given a sweet soul as a friend and mentor. I don't know if we will ever meet in person, but you will forever live in my heart, my mind, and in my smile! I thank you with all that I am for always being a great person

It's a 'choice' you made on your own momma. We will always be friends because we are one spirit. I've commented on our trip to New York. It's on my 'to do' list. Gas prices be damned........Thanks for the BR.

I've never really worried about my future. My God has always provided in the ways I needed and served me best. But I do plan. Rather loose plans, but I always have a dream or goal I'm working towards and that keeps me focused so that along the way I can enjoy the little things of my days that make me smile. Like you momma!

A little bit of both to be honest. I always try to live in the moment, but it's impossible not to think about the future, especially where I am at personally right now.

thanks for the honest answer inked. thinking about, and worrying about is not the same. we all think about the future, but worrying about it with negative thoughts will only give you what you are thinking about.

I would have to say that I find it very hard to enjoy any moments right now. My husband and I both are working seven days per week just to make it and secure our future. I will be able to sit back and enjoy life later on when we get these financial burdens off of our back. We do try to make time for some enjoyments but there is not much time or energy for it right now.

the future honey is a gift, not a promise. if you don't start enjoying every moment as they happen, you are going to miss out on so much joy. you can find joy in any situation. a smile from a stranger. knowing you have helped someone becuase of your job. getting that traffic light to turn right on time. those are the joys of life. those little moments that create our lives

As much as possible I prefer to enjoy each moment. OF course it would be nice to be able to do it all the time, but sometimes I do worry about the future too. THis is normal, and I think a balance of both is just fine :) I do try not to worry too much, it's a waste of energy that can be put into making things right so I don't have to worry later :)

i just love that patzel88. I would love if everyone do such a thing. because knowing that this moment is the only thing we have, we would not worry so much about the next one, we would just love where we are right now

Hmm... I don't know which category I fall in. I guess depending on the time of the month and the situation I am in, it would be a mixture of both. Like for example, when I am having a meal with my family, I enjoy the opportunity to be with them cos all of us are so darn busy, we hardly can make the time to meet all together to sit down for a nice meal. Or knowing that I have a good wife who will stand by me, thru the good or the bad. Or knowing the fact that I have very good colleagues, I am thankful for them. As my job would have gone no where without them. There are so many examples, it would be impossible to list them all down here. Then again, there are times when I worry. Like the recent hikes in fuel prices, they are translating to new hikes for daily necessities. Pay never rise, but cost keep increasing! If things go on the way they do, I wonder what I will be trying to put on the table the next month! So, there is no definite classification into one or the other categories.

Both but as much as possible, I try to enjoy life to the fullest. I enjoy every moment with my loveones. I just don't want or let the opportunity gone by without spending quality times with my family, friends and hubby.

I personally do not worry too much about the future and dwell on what's more important, the present. though you should also plan for the future. What's better than doing good on the present to prepare for the future?

I used to worry a lot before i got married. Very long term worries of which when i think of it now i feel it was so stupid. But now i have shifted to my husbands philosophy which is to live for the present and every problem has a solution. So instead of thinking about how to solve the problem why should we worry. Our worrying is not going to send the problem away. So i take one day at a time and enjoy every moment.
