Ok, like you said rest is very good also plenty of fluids, maybe some chicken soup but it seems like with my daughter when she was sick chicken pot pie always did the trick for her. Also another really good medicine for any ailment is love, lots and lots of love.

I have sent some recommendations directly to him, other things would include lemonade, even hot lemonade. Anything with lots of spices. Good old Vick's Vaporub

Bob Ojii-san needs plenty of fluids. Water is first on the list, then orange juice for potassium. He'll also need plenty of rest and if is up to it, a cup or two of hot tea can be a moderate remedy. Hope he gets well soon.

to me a flu like virus I would fight it with hot toddies. wishkey,lemon and hot water and alittle sugar or hard rock candy melted in it

Plenty of liquids is important so that he doesn't get dehydrated. That is very important. Hope Grandpa Bob gets to feeling better. I wish him a speedy get well wish.

You better be drinking more tea, Grandpa Bob. It will help sooth your throat and sinuses. Add honey and will sooth your cough as well. If viruses can be sent long distance via internet, then you gave me yours. lol Started getting sick toward evening yesterday. I'm betting it's allergies thou. Grandpa Bob, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I know you will be greatly missed here on mylot by many people, me included. Get lots of rest and chicken noodle soup. If you have a sore throught, try some jello! It always works wonders with my kids. Minnie_98214, I didn't know that grandpa bob was your dad. He is a really nice guy and has given me some really great advice in the past. Hope your dad gets to feeling better soon!

It's been a few days since you posted this discussion. SO I hope that Grandpa Bob is doing much better now. Along with rest, plenty of liquids should be taken in as well. Hot tea with honey and lemon may also help!

Get well soon Grandpa Bob. Drink lots of water, get lots of rest, lots of love, and laugh (as long as it doesn't hurt to laugh) All of those things will help get you better sooner and stay heathier longer.

Yes, I hope he gets better.. Yet all I know is lots of rest and fluids, especially orange juice.. to stay warm and have your family come round and pamper you..

What a nice thing to do for your dad, Minnie. He really is well loved here, and I consider him to be one of my dear friends. Did you know he gave me my first ever Best Response? Please get well soon, and hurry back Grandpa Bob. You are definitely missed here. Aside from getting plenty of rest, and this means actual naps too, maybe try some tea with honey. My daughter's sick right now, and she says it works wonders. At least she feels like she's doing something to help. Take care of yourself.

I would suggest tea - eichinacea tea would be good. There's always green tea. Lots of fluids is the obvious and i'm sure he's already doing that. Get well Grandpa Bob - we miss your photos!

get well grandpa bob.i know how he is feeling at the moment minnie,as i have been in bed with the same thing today.have a really nice warm bath and lots of rest in bed,and a little mylotting if you can manage it,drink lots of water.cheers sue
