I bought my first car when I started my first job. I had to get a loan out for it, but I made all the payments. When my kids were in school, the parking lot was full of cars the kids were driving to school. We couldn't afford to get our kids a car, and I don't think I would have anyway. A lot of kids are getting their first car given to them though.

That is good and I think a lot more kids would appreciate it more if they had to work and buy their own car and then take care of it themselves.

My parents bought me my first car. The paid $300 dollars for it. The car was a 1972 baby blue Maverick it did not have power steering or power brakes! You got a workout trying to turn! I hated that car worth a passion!

But you should have just thought about what they were trying to do for you, that was probaly a joy for them to be able to give you your first car.

My mom gave me her old car when she got a new car. The car was in pretty bad shape and I fixed it up so good, it was almost like brand-new. But, as you know, cars do wear down and I eventually had to trade it in for another car. It was funny, because my first car was so big and my next two cars after that were very small.

That is great darlene, because it looks as if you really cared about the car she gave to you even though it was a little worn, you just gave it some TLC.

The first car I ever owened was a blue 1978 Chevy Nova, and I bought it off my grandfather for five bucks, because he had three cars, and he only needed two,and he wanted to get rid of the nova, and he didnt wanna just give it too me,so he sold it to me for five bucks,so that way I could say I bought it and he could say he sold it.I loved that car because it was a muscle car,and I had that car for six monthes, before I wrecked it.

I know lol I was very thankful that he gave me the car at that deal, especially since I was 17,I didnt have money,I didnt have a job,and I wanted a car,so I could drive.I just wish I hadnt wrecked that car, because if I hadnt I would be still be driving it to this day,and then I would have a car im happy with.
