get rid of a Telemarket call? What do you do to get them off the phone. I always just answer the phone but I never say anything once I know thats what it is. I just let them sit there and listen to whatever I happen to be doing when they interupt my life. What do you do to get rid of them?

I answer the call then inform them that I don't have a money to buy. I am broke! hahaha... and I am not interested. if they keep on calling, I just hang up the phone. Hate it!

One of the best tricks I have found is to say*excuse me for a moment* then put the phone down on the desk. It's their call, they are paying for it, so I leave them on the line for a few moments. I then pick up the phone and if they are still there, I let them wait a while longer. I do try to be polite and pleasant but they are trained to be persistent and I feel that if they can't take no for an answer then they will just have to learn the hard way.

I pretend interest to begin with. I say "yes I am really interested in a new mobile phone, kitchen, holiday, or whatever", and then I give a small reason for them to hold for a moment. "I just have something on the stove, or I'm just going to turn down the TV", and then I put the phone down (not back on the hook), and I go back to whatever I was doing before I was interrupted. I guarantee that they will all hang up sooner or later. :)

Its easy. If they identified themselves as telemarket call, usually I pretend not to be me. I just said that I look around if the people he looking for is in the house. After a while I just said to him that the person he wanted to meet not at home and closed the phone. Wanted an easier route? If you didnot had any important call, just plug off your phone. Your friends, families usually can reach you through mobile phone.

first off, i would invest in caller id and not answer any phone calls from numbers that you don't recognize. screen your answering machine/voicemail and just delete messages from the people that you don't want to hear from. second, i would register with the national do-not-call list. you may receive a few phone calls for a couple of days, but make sure that you tell these people that you are registered on the do not call list. they can be prosicuted for harassing people on this list. but, if you have given your number to these people, then the only thing you can do is ignore your phone.

let them leave a message or just ignore the call. the people that I love will always leave a message so I can call back and also my doctors office. the others I could care less about. let the telemarketers bug someone else.

I read the responses you got to this question and, as a former telemarketer, I will tell you that the easiest way to get them off the phone is to say, "take me off your list!" I know that when I was telemarketing, we had to do that right away and let the person go, no questions asked. If you don't do that, your number will just go back in the system and they will keep calling. Hope that helps.

I usually ignore the call, but sometimes if I am bored I will answer and mess around with them a little. Usually my kids love to talk on the phone so I just hand the phone over to one of them and let them tell the telemarketer a story. That is funny to me! Or I just put the phone down and let them hear background noise or the television or radio or whatever I have going on.

There used to be a 800 number you could call and it would take you off the telemarketing list for a certain amount of time. Maybe the BBB would have it. I just don't answer or tell them I am not interested and hang up.
