I have been using Paint.net for over a year now and I love it. The have a forum and ton's of tutorials and add ons. If you have a Question you can post it on the forum and get a response right away. It's also free open source.

I like The GIMP best. Paint.net is only for Windows. And it uses ".net" which is designed by MS--the enemy of OpenSoure. GIMP is even better than PhotoShop. But i'm not a artist. One of my classmates can use Photoshop well , and I told her than GIMP is better than Photoshop. But she said that she never heard of GIMP.

I agree that GIMP is a very good program. I've used it for years too and i like it because it's easy to use.

I've been using Gimp for years and I really like it. But, since I got a larger format camera, I've found that it has a harder time handling the larger files. But, it's pretty good for a free program. If you are good at writing codes and working with mirrors, you can really get this program to do a ton of things. But, even if you don't know how to work with mirrors, you can get a pretty good Windows version that is already made to go.
