It's not much really but it is something I have wanted/needed as of late. I broke down and bought a tripod for my camera. I am at the age where my hands are not as steady as they were once so I shake a lot and the photos have been blurry lately. Now I can take some decent shots of things I've done before and get a clearer shot. Next is a new camera. Have you a tripod at all?

Canon Powershot it cost about $400 and it is well worth it. Someday Ill start posting more pictures lol. What the heck of subject but ill post a fun pic anyways. Its a picture of the moon I took before I really knew how to work my camera but still a pretty good shot with a simple camera.

Bob, that picture looks a bit blurry. Why didn't you use your tripod?

hello grandpa bob,
I dont have the need to buy a tripod yet. I have a digi cam with me and it suits me just fine.
Have a nice day.

Mine is digital as well but for some shots especially nighttime or action shots I need the camera to be still so the tripod is for that purpose.

Kewl! Now go back and get me one please. I need one as well so I can take some pics with me in it when the moment strikes instead of having to wait for someone to take them.

LOl I think your photos are fine and sharp AGB but I am sure you will love the tripod for planned shots - just not your impulse spur of the moment ones! My daughters head is the only tripod I need as she is just the right height - other than that no tripod but then 6 year old Niamh takes most of our photos even those of herself! lol Well I suppose it is her camera after all! xxxx

I used to have a borrowed one that was broken, and my husband used to rig it up so that it would work, and though it was better than nothing, I always wanted to get a new one. My pictures also come out kind of blurry, and a tripod would be helpful.

They are fairly priced.
Anywhere from $20 and up depending on your needs etc.

Hi Grandpa Bob no I can't say I have a tripod but am thinking about getting one though so yes I took can take some decent camera pictures it's not that are bad or anything but sometimes the camera is either to high or to low I always tend to find something wrong with what I do take... My sister in law has one and they pictures are always great when she takes them... So a Tripod is never a bad idea or at least thats what I think...

I have a tripod and would be lost without it. When taking night shots of still objects try using the delayed shutter release. I did it when i took shots of the night sky line. Your snapping the shutter and releasing the camera will cause slight shaking that can blur you photo. Most cameras will have a 2 or 10 second delay. You should have better results. Have fun and lets see some of the photos taken with the new tripod.

Yes this is why I needed this tripod. I have tried many night shots but they are always blurred due to a shaky hand trying to get that great shot.

I have never used a tripod. I have a camera that could accommodate one, but I do not own one.

Good for you hon, I applaud you for getting something you wanted and needed. Every now and then we just have to do something just for ourselves.

Congrats on your new tripod Grandpa Bob.
My husband and I do have a tripod (it's actually our second one), but lately only use it for group photos of the family. With our first one my husband used it a lot more often, but after having our second son we just don't take pictures as much as we used to.
So what kind of camera are you looking to get?

Hi GRANDPA BOB! Yes, my hubby has a tripod and it is very convenient for him because he can get a really steady shot. The tripod was just a gift from a friend of his and I think it is one of the most precious gift he ever received from a friend. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!
