This is actually the name of an opera I went to see years ago. Now, you guys that know me, know I'm not an Opera sortta gal. As you can tell, this isn't your normal kind of opera. First, consider the title and second, I'm recommending it. The story is about Dracula moving to New York City (and boy are his arms tired) and into an apartment. Now, Drac has given up drink people blood - too much negative feedback - and has a box with his rats inside. Since the delivery people couldn't get into his apartment, they delivered it to his down stairs neighbor, a desperate to marry her daughter, Jewish lady. And now the fun begins! There were lots of amusing situations even if I can't remember any of the music. Should you be so lucky to EVER see this little opera in your area, I recommend going. No blood, no violence, lots of amusing vampire jokes...

I have heard of this opera but have never seen it. I have not once in my life been to an opera. I think I would like to go some time though. I think I may have seen some small opera skits over the years though at amusement parks or something like that. I think I would like it more now that I have grown a bit older.

I admit this is the ONLY one I've ever attended in person, and that was because after my mom ushered for it she knew I'd like it.

Haha, yay now I know what this thing's about. They're playing it in my city and my Mom wanted me to go. But I wasn't sure, not knowing what it's about. Aw, no violence? Ah well, at least it sounds amusing =)

I'm afraid not. Financial stuff wasn't that great at the time, regrettably. Hopefully they'll play it again next year and we'll get another chance!

It was fun. The 2 are both so calculating, but to see Drac get bettered by a determined mother was just priceless!

Not what I'd call my normal fare, but it was way more fun than I ever expected an opera to be. Being in English helped, I guess, able to understand what was being said with out subtitles!

I saw it at the University, so I doubt it'd be "coming around." If you have a university with a large music department, you might then look for it, while it was only 2 actors, it was still opera.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun. I wonder when they will bring it to Australia?

This was a college opera company doing it. So I would watch for colleges that have music programs that might perform it.
