Do you check how your stocks do every day? I like to upload my stock information into my Quicken program, so I check mine every day.

Not really. I have invested about 30% of my money into stock market and 60% into real estates. Thus it's a very important factor in my overall portfolio. During the bull, I checked few times a day. But during the economy down turn, the market is so static and it makes no difference if I check the stocks once a week or once a fortnight. So far my overall investment in stock market hasn't achieve break even yet.

I don't have hardly any money invested in stocks, but I like to enter them into Quicken to keep track of them.

Well I see. I think misunderstand your discussion, by not really knowing what Quicken is. Sorry about that, and hope you don't mind. I have never use it before. Is it meant for keeping track of stocks?

It's hard for me to recommend stock because as soon as I recommend them, they go down and people lose money. The best stock I own is Pepsi stock, but I also own Johnson and Johnson and others. But, you know, the stock market is risky. I've had stocks that were doing very well for a while suddenly drop because people stopped buying their product all of a sudden. I generally go for well-known companies with a history of financial stability. Those are usually the best investments.

Your broker should be able to tell you how. I know with me, I find the companies I want to buy and find out what their ticker symbol is. Then, I just tell the broker that I want to buy a certain amount of stock and they buy it for me.

It's not so convenient for me to check the stocks all the time since I have to work. I don't want others to see it anyway. I've found a good method. That is I can add a robot to my MSN contact. When I need to know the stocks I care about, then I just input "stock" and press enter. Then the stocks status will show up.

That's probably good enough. I like to input my stock information into my Quicken program and so that I can track them.

Yeah, I check them around tax time to report dividends or any sales, which are rare.

I did not eat it, honest I didn't. Was that the one I couldn't see because it was bleeped out? Or was that a different discussion? Was it a nice comment? Lol!

I had a company actually go out of business and I lost all the money I put into it because I was holding onto it too long. So, I definitely will keep an eye on my stocks everyday.

I do several online businesses that involves investing and I definitely check them daily to see if they're still there. I don't put all my eggs in one basket and I watch the baskets carefully.
