I live in Georgia where the temperature gets quite warm or rather hot in the summers. I am thinking of getting some houseplants but I don't really know what to get. Do you have any live plants in your home...or office?

I live in Ga also, and I have lots and lots of plants. The problem is my house sits under a bunch of old oak trees, which makes my house to dark. If your going to keep plants in the house, one that will probably NOT do well is a Boston Fern. Since we have to run our ACs all the time, it takes to much humidity out of the air and the thing will dryout and shed everywhere. I don't know all the scientific names, but a common plant that does well indoors is an Arrowhead vine. It grows like a vine but you can train it to make a nice basket. It comes in varigation too. Floor plants that do well are corn plants, rubber trees, dumb canes and so on. I use to keep all my plants indoors, now they sit out in the greenhouse aka bird avairy.

She used to take my plants when they reached deathes door save their little lives give them back then when i would have their little lives almost snuffed out she would get them breath new life into them then give them back. I was sure that as soon as the plants saw me coming to get them they started wilting from the trauma.

I have 2 house plants at the minute, both are rubber plants as they are the only houseplant that I can look after without killing!! Mind you saying that at the minute one of them is as we speak fighting for its life, but I will try my best to save it. Rubber Plants are real easy to look after and seem to thrive all year round they do not need much water in winter. But come the warmer weather they do need a lot more water.

I think the best would be a fortune plant, be it small or big. We have them here, as it doesn't require to be watered much everyday. I placed one in our living room, we have some in our backyard too and placed one in my room as well..

Indoor Plants. - Fortune plants like these are good to decorate your home, they only need less water and doesn't need too much attention in taking care of.
We have plants like that which grows here, we have big one's in our garden and little one's which we cut from the tree itself so we can put them in doors. I have uploaded a sample photo of it, I just hope that you could determine what it is for I'm not sure how big the photo size was..

The only house plant that I have right now is a bamboo plant. It's great because it doesn't need a lot of light and is pretty impossible to kill. I've had mine for 2 or three years now and it's fine. My cat has gotten ahold of it a few times and it still made it out alive.

I'd check Walmart or Lowes if you have one of those stores nearby. If you can't find any near you, you may be able to buy them online.

You should consider getting some when you get into your own place, they are supposed to improve the quality of the air around them.

I have live plants in my office fish tank and that is where all the indoor plants can be found in my house. I grow water plants as part of my living and even people with a brown thumb won't kill them. I'm in Southern California where we don't have seasons like most of the country. Its mild here year round except this year as we have been having record breaking heat. I'm not use to the heat and am having trouble getting anything done.

My mother could grow things as could my m-i-l. It skipped me and apparently my children too!
