I heard somewhere that people have been using other's cell phones and how people can download your info off your phone and numbers and call them asking for money using your name. I only will let a stranger use it if it is an emergency and I will dial the number myself. And stand there and watch the person like a hawk while they talk. They are limited to 1 minute!

I hate letting others use my cell phone, however when people ask to let them make a call it becomes difficult to refuse. However, I wouldn't let them download any info from my phone and if somebody tries to do that its disgusting.

Not usually. I might do in an emergency. I can't say I've ever been asked except by a bus driver but I was on the bus at the time. Someone had thrown something at the window right next to me and smashed it so the driver had to call to get another bus sent out. If there was an emergency, I would call emergency services myself but I don't think I would normally allow a stranger to use it.

I do not believe I have ever let a "stranger" use my cell phone. I have let ..say.. the nurse who comes to dress Dad's wound, or a health care giver, or someone I have hired to tend to my parents for a day use it on limited occassions... but they are all people I could track down again if I had need to. If a stranger is in need of assistance and requests using my cell, I generally make the call for them so I know where the call is going etc. (like I called the fire dept. for the woman outside the pharmacy who had locked her keys and her child in the car and it was extremely hot out..) I also wait with them for the help to arrive to make sure they don't take off leaving my number the one to track for calling.

nope, I wouldn't do that unless there was a major car accident, and people were drastically injured and I pulled over to help and they needed a phone to call for an ambulance and maybe loved ones or family.........
