The idea of a Honeymoon is ancient

It was accepted practice in Babylon 4000 yars ago that a new father-in-law should supply his son-in-law with all th mead he could drink for a period of one month after the wedding.
Mead is a drink made from fermented honey and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month which we know today as honeymoon.
I've tried mead and it was far too sweet for my liking!

Well thanks first of all ,Today i did learn something new, honey moon had always heard about it but never bothered to know what it is and today I know what is it all about and from were it came from.since never heard of it so tasting mead is out of question but lol want to try it .anyways thanks again for the information and I did learn something new today will keep in mind and whenever this topic comes up in my personal life i will tell them proudly how and from were it came!!!!!!!!1

Just as well I'm not planning on going on a honeymoon when I get married. Now I'd be thinking about sickly sweet honey drinks that make your head spin!
