How can I attract birds??

We moved into a new house 12 months ago which has been built on a new developement area. Of course as they do these days the developer flattened evrything in site to build houses. Although I have planted some fast growing trees to attract birds they will take a couple of years before they are big enough. Has anyone any ideas that will attract birds to our property in the meantime?

Why would you want to attract wild birds? They might carry with them disease or some illness. Go buy a bird from a breeder. Parrots are the cutest. :D

Just put out feeders and keep them full. You can also pick a spot to pile all the branches you pick up in your yard. Many little birds may like to nest there. Good luck, I love feeding and watching birds.

you can put a pole up with a bird house, then sprinkle some bird food around on the ground. I hope that helps. I know it helped us.

get your hands on a Western Gardening book and look up section of plants that attract birds as I know there are a lot of them then grow those that take the least time to grow and be sure that they do grow in your particular zone, all the info is in the book.
