Some say that what you don't know won't hurt you. But what if you know that you don't know something? Won't that hurt too? though it sound as a tongue twister, at times, personally i would rather not know. coz i don't want to think the whole time guessing what is the thing that i do not know. how about you? happy posting and have a nice day!

I think it would be better if I know, because if I hear that news from someone else than my family, friends.etc it will be painful. So it is much better to hear from them rather than someone else.

I think once you KNOW there is something that you don't know out there, you want to know, even if you shouldn't know! If you have no idea there is something out there that you don't know, then it can never bother you. You know what I mean? haha That is confusing, but I think we all just get curious about things, even if we know that knowing them can hurt us.

i understand what you want to point out. "Curiosity really kills a cat." we can't really take not knowing things. at times we see warnings already but still because of our stubborn curiosity, we still insist.

I try to go by the rule that if it hurts them more by telling them than it does by keeping it a secret, then it's best not to tell them. This is especially true if it's something that they don't really need to know because they aren't in any danger. A lot of times we "reveal" things to people in order to lift a burden from ourselves and not to help the other person. If you are no longer doing whatever it was that you want to keep secret, then it's best not to reveal it to the other person unless you feel that the other person is in danger.

i agree with you. i won't bother other people telling things to them when it is not really that important and when things that endanger them i'll opt to tell it to them immediately.

A lot of people use this as an excuse not to tell people something. But it seems like they usually find out anyway and then they are hurt even more because it is kept secret from them.

I have always told people that I would rather know the truth about something even if they think it will upset me or hurt my feelings. The way I look at it, there is a good chance you will find out eventually and finding out later will be more hurtful or make me more angry than if I had heard it right away.

yeah i know in time i'll get to know the secrets they are keeping. the thing that i don't want them to do is pre-emp things. its like asking me if i know something then they will stop talking if i answered that i do not know what they are talking about. it just kills me when they started telling me things but not really telling anything. that's why its better for me that if they don't want to tell their secrets, better not tell me that they have secrets. its true that truth really hurts, but it is more painful when you know that there is something but no one dares to tell it to you.

Even if I know that theres something that I do not know which if known to me could hurt me so bad, I rather choose not to know it. It could be left unsaid or unknown if it will only do bad. But I have experience about this before, though I know knowing something wont hurt me so when I know that theres something that I didnt know, I really find ways to know it. Sometimes you wont be at peace knowing that theres something that you do not know.

yes, honestly i can't sleep at night without knowing things. to the point even in my dreams i keep on thinking about it. at times, i don't know if you agree with me, but if we insist of knowing things which are not in the right time to be revealed, we end up hurting. that's why at times i really zip my mouth, close my eyes and ears just not to insist on things.

Being honest and truthful is always the best thing. I dont want anyone hiding anyting from me. If it means that it will hurt me, can you imagine what it will do to me a few years down the road.

It depends on what it is. In some cases its best to know certain things even if its unpleasant only because you could be affected by it. However sometimes its best not to know something only if it will get you angry and won't affect you in any other way. For instance I cannot stand my sister in law, she is a control freak and is very manipulative. Everytime I hear about her latest antics I get all emotional about it..and I shouldn't since it doesn't affect me in any other way. So in that case, its best that I don't know about the stuff she pulls!

Yeah, I think that if I knew that I didn't know something, that would upset me cause I'd be going crazy wondering what it was. lol Like someone else mentioned above, I don't think it's a good thing to use that as an excuse to lie to someone or leave out the truth, but if it's something that I can't control, then I think I'd feel better off not knowing at all. If it is something bad that I could change though, then I'd like to know.

I am always curious and I'd do everything to know things that I need to know. Even if it would hurt me, I would still want to know what it is. It's for me to judge if it would reallly hurt me or not.

As for me, I would rather know the truth than know it later because sometimes it would really hurt more. But sometimes, there are secrets that can't be revealed at that moment.. oh well.. the truth will prevails in no time... so Id rather know it.

Well, for me, I deserve to know the truth.. I'd rather be hurt by the truth rather to be hurt because I was fooled by someone! :)

yes i agree with you because it all depends when you know something or not. It may be for your benefit to not know something and it also may be against your benefit to not know something. It all depends on the situation and the fact about which you should know or not know.

I rather know as early as possible and learn toget over the pain rather that knowing it later. For example, my friend is criticizing me to another friend, I wish that the other friend will let me know it so that i can confront to my o ther friend and setlle things down! IT'S UNfair for me to be hanging with them and only to find out, i am being criticized at the back! I ALways love constructive criticism and i believe that it will always improve any kind of relationship!
