Myanmar. Is the world weak, gutless or both.

I, like many others , am having difficulty understanding the situation in Myanmar. Thousands are dead and many thousands more will be if the aid does not get in and what does the UN do about it? They beg saying "please let us in to help". What do other nations do? They stand on the sidelines wringing their hands and making tut, tut noises. I'm sorry but if you see someone in trouble you don't wait for someone elses permission before going to their aid. It's time for the UN and ALL the member nations to show the world that they have balls and are not a lame duck organisation. They need to inform the tinpot dictator of Myanmar that they are coming in peacefully under a flag of truce to help the many suffering people and that if any resistance is met they will defend themselves with all the might they can bring to bear. The UN has a chance here to prove that they are not a gutless wonder and indeed are worth the cost. Supply a very heavily armed escort to enable aid workers to enter Myanmar with supplies, forget stupid protocols and get the transport aircraft in the air dropping supplies, and prove that you have balls. But we all know that the UN has no claws and is weak. They will carry on talking and talking, as usual, until thousands of people are dead. GET INTO THE REAL WORLD U.N.

Here, Here someone needs to help those poor people. What kind of corrupt junta is this? Letting aid in does not mean you can not control your people. it's the loss of power they fear.
