I have been It is defiantly the Gall Bladder, the Specialist could not understand why I was told there where no Gall Stones as in his report it states that there was, he asked how long I have been like this and when I told him that I first went June last year and was told by the Doctor that there is nothing wrong that I was fat, he was not impressed. He asked me if I am under a Lung Consultant again I said no as the Doctor here says I do not need one, he looked at me and asked if I had a Consultant before I moved here, I told him yes that from the Start I was under one, he was confused how of all a Sudden I was not sent to a consultant here, actually he was not happy at all Well I know the Surgery is not a hard one, as he told me, but I have to go through all the Lung Tests now before they send me to Anaesthetist and from those they will decide if I am able to have an Anaesthetic or if it is to dangerous for me to go under He told me it will be a risk anyway but if the risk is to high and my Lungs are to weak, then they will not be able to put me under. The Problem now is these tests that have to be done would not have to be done if that stupid B*tch of a Doctor would have sent me to a Consultant like she was suppose to, so they will take up to 4 Months now and then a Decision will be made, so that means another 4 Months at least before they can do the Surgery. I was brave yesterday yes, but now I am scared after being told that with my Illness it is a high risk He also told me that I will be kept in 2-3 Days depending how I react to the Anaesthetic So again the Doctor up the Road has proven again to be a careless B and playing with my Life He said it was good that I stood my Ground and wanted to get this checked out as it could have turned very nasty So that is the Outcome, most of Friends here said it is the Gall Bladder and they where right Hugs to all of you

I can understand you being in pain. My close friend said it was by far the worst pain she ever felt, and if she had not been pregnant she would have thrown herself off a building. Keep on being brave, Gabs. Hugs to you, and good to see Terry, too.

Howdy Gabs, it might be time for you to seek the advice of an Attorney, what do you think? This is insane that your primary care doctors were not listening to you, or doing what was in your best interest. If it were me thats the direction I would move at this point. you have been put through enough already.

I'm wondering how that doctor up the road has kept a physician's license. Talk about malpractice! Well I'm glad you found someone that is finally able and willing to do something about this. I hope he calls that other doctor and gives him a major tongue lashing! Lots of love and hugs to you too sweetie. Love you.

Okay I know you are worried Angel but what have I told you? Worrying will only stress you and that will make the pain worse! There isn't much you can do until you have had the results of these tests and see where you go from there - easy to say but harder to do I know , but you really have to try angel. They won't send you for surgery unless your lungs are strong enough to cope - that is what these tests are for sweety. At least we know what the problem is for sure now and when these tests are over a decision can be made over what to do about it! Hang tough sweety - you have lasted this long , 4 months more is nothing! xxx

It is appalling the way you have been treated really, the doctor you are under sounds like she should not be a doctor at all, she is certainly not doing her job properly and you have suffered with this longer than necessary. I would be tempted to see if there was grounds to make a complaint to be honest. But at least now you are on the right track and hopefully, hopefully things can be sorted out for you. Hugz xx

why don't you make a complain about that local doctor, her negligence can kill people, there most be a college of surgeons and physicians in where you are and this should not go unnoticed. This quake is playing with people's lives.

Wow! You know I like how the health care is available to more people over there, but on the other hand in the U.S. you wouldn't have to wait 4 months for the surgery. Four months! I cannot cringe enough. Oh wow would I be incensed at that doctor. It reminds me of when I was losing my hair, and my doctor told me it was 'natural', and I was just one of those women who lost their hair early. Come to find out if he would have sent me to a consultant I could have been diagnosed and would have been able to keep my hair! But I had to have him refer me. What 20 something loses their hair (to the extent mine was gone)? Can you report that doctor? There is no telling how many people have had their well being overloooked. I hope it works out that things can be done sooner. It must be very uncomfortable. And I think uncomfortable is a very weak word to describe it!

I dealt with a lot of bitterness. Some days I would forget my hair was mostly gone, and then I'd pass by a mirror and just cry. But now I can joke about it a little. I call myself the Bald Eagle. : ) I'm so glad you ar reporting her. I cannot believe a doctor would make such a mistake that would seem so simple to diagnose.

I knew all along that she was no good from the Day she told me I do not need a Lung Consultant, after having one for 5 years of all a sudden I didn't need one? Don't think so somehow and then the time she kept me on Antibiotics for 6 weeks and made me sicker but yes I will be putting a report in

I really have trouble understanding some things. Your case is one of them. They can't justify such negligence without proving to us that it's all a matter of just wanting to cut here and there and all the corners they can so in the end the health care is nothing but a joke. Well, at least you now do know what it is, and at least that's one step forward. A very small one, but at least a forward one. Hope everything can be done in the least amount of time possible, dear twin, and that your lungs are strong enough so the procedure will have minimal risks. Hugs to you

How can you wait 4 months? I know the pain that comes along with it and I know there would have been no way I could have waited that long. Are you sure they can't put a speed on your tests to get you going faster? I am so sorry this happened to you. The sad thing is this does happen more then people know. I had a doctor tell me once there was nothing wrong with me except according to the records I took with me from the hospital I was a fat depressed woman. OK maybe not those exact words but that is what it implied. I took the actual tests from that hospital and went directly to a specialist and he read the report and found the problems. I had a bad case of diverticulitist and phomenia. After he treated me I was much better. It is sad that some doctors just take the easy way out. I am so sorry you had to go through all of this because of one of those doctors. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope they can get this done fast and all goes well.

I have to wait that long because they now have to arrange an Appointment with the Lung Consultant that I should have been under when I moved here I have COPD emphasimia Asthma Chronic Bronchitias and should be seeing a Consultant every 3 Months but this Doctor decided I didn't need to even though I had been under a Consultant for 5 years, so now they have to do all the tests on my Lungs to make sure I can have the Anaesthetic

I am so sorry to hear about all of this gabs. Doctors like your previous one, make me furious, and the very idea of her saying that it's about your weight, is just plain rude, ignorant, etc. I personally know of cases here that have been mishandled, and the doctor(s) in question should've been sued. The fact that you also have gall stones, yet were told you didn't also, well ... This new doctor sounds like he's really good, and knows what he's talking about, which is wonderful. Maybe they'll find a way, so you won't have to wait so long for these tests. I'll be praying that things can be looked after for you, in a way that will be safe, and that you'll have a complete recovery. I can understand why you feel scared too, after what he told you. Please take care of yourself. Big hugs to you.

Well at least you know what it is now.... I am sorry you have been treated so negligently by the doctors there but am glad you saw this specialist and are finally getting to the bottom of this! It is sad that you may have to wait up to another four months but at least they are looking after you now! I know my Husband's Step Mom was also neglected by doctors for many years and it has done a terrible number on her Thyroid issues and really made her ill unnecessarily! It is so frustrating! Neglect also caused my son a year in getting diagnosed and serviced!!!! I have no idea why some doctors are like this! Sorry for the rant but it bothers me! HUGS ~Heavens~

I am so sorry, gabs, that your general practitioner didn't show professional acumen in dealing with your case. I know that they usually try to be on safe side rather than take a risk of their own opinion, especially when it is based on their interpretation, and which, of course, wasn't the case with your GP. The problem is, in medical field, much is still based on experience and interpretation rather than solid ground like in engineering. Right diagnosis and interpretation is the root to cure and tackle the problem head on with right choices. So, in this particular regard, I am glad that it is finally well established and diagnosed as to what really is the problem. And, even though you will have to wait for 4 months now, which could have been avoided if you GP followed generally expected professional behavior, it can now be dealt as it should be. Given how much courageous and brave you have been and actually are, I believe you will be able to handle the stress and frustration caused by this delay. You know that your friends are here to support you like a family that we are. I wish you the best, gabs, and look forward to time when you will finally be able to get rid of it.

Anesthesia is always a risk, my friend, even when dealt with highly skilled professionals, and even if the person given anesthesia is very healthy otherwise. Here, when my wife was given anesthesia, they got a paper signed from us giving them permission and she is otherwise healthy. Yes, it is scary and I understand your concerns especially with that illness. It was your specialist's professional duty to tell you about the risk involved. But, let me tell you that they will go for it when they see that the probability of it having no problem is high and chances of it being fine are good. The tests will help them get this probability even higher by deciding how best to do it, or at least that's how I understand it. So, while I understand your concerns, I am hopeful that they will work out the best possible way and that you well be fine, cured and back with us. I love to see it in more optimistic way and given how resilient and courageous you are, I am very positive about my optimism.

Oh Gabs, I've been absent for a while. And so sorry to hear about what is going on. I hate going to the hospital and seeing doctor after doctor. just a single one, even if for a darn 15 minute appointment, drains me out fo rthe whole day at least. (Though must of the time is spend waiting for the doc and test results, etc.) I hope you are doing better. I think you're probably getting used to bad treatment or treatment from some docs, unfortunately. Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes. (Cross our fingers). Hugs to you, and get well soon!

Sorry I have not responded sooner, we have some "stuff" both good and bad happening here, and I am just not online much. I am glad you are getting correct opinions, and not at all amazed that your friends are better than a lot of doctors. I will say that first hubby's grandmother controlled her gall bladder attacks very well for many years by making sure she ate lean meat, lots of fruits and veggies. It was when she had another health crisis that she had to have it out in her sixties. It is better to do it now if you can. Sugars and fats are the culprits. I have also had friends who had trouble with grapes, grape juice, grape jam and jelly after their surgeries. Do they not do the laparascopic surgery over there? That is so much less invasive, I understand.

Your GP seems to have treated you in a very offhand way Gabs. When the time is right make sure that her butt is kicked hard. If she is out of her depth then she should have referred you straightaway. We don't expect our doctors to be miracle workers, but they should act professionally and responsibly. But now you know what the problem is at least. 4 months is ridiculous; I thought that St Tony had sorted out the health system - LOL. I know that you will be fine. Keep thinking positively. hi gabs I am so sorrythose first idiots did not connect their dots and recognize that you had gallstonex. Even I just an ex nurses aid recognized the disease from your symptomsFrom what you say if they had been competent to start out it would have saved you four months. thats awful. Before I had surgery a couple of years ago for a rectocyle and cysto cele I had to have an ekg but the darned thing came up postive so then I had to go through a whole battery of tests because I did not want to have surgery if I had something bad wrong with my heart.took ten or twelve days and after all the tests the cardiologist said my heart was just fine. so now they have to determine if your lungs can stand up under the anestheisa. wow what on earth are they going todo about the stones if your lungs wont pass muster. the darned things make so much pain as I remember so well I would try to work then one of them would move and I would have that grinding pain while I was trying to shelve books. got so bad I finally weent to the doctor again and he sent me to have tests which showed I definitely had some big gallstones and I was scheduled in two days for surgery. So now you have to have these tests and just wait. I am glad that they have finally come to the conclusion but if your lungs are okay the two or three days wont be all that bad. take care my prayers always with you. lots of hugs.too.
