With nowaday's recent spate of scams, it's no surprise that people are hesitant to trust anyone. Why does it has so many damned scam artists all over the world? Truly, between elderly pensioners and the young and naive like me, there's a huge market! But what can be done to stop it? Maybe stiffer penalties for the criminals? Some say better education would help. What kind of class can help with this kind of thing? What's your opinion about this?

Desperate and greed is the main cause for so many scamming around the world.. No amount of education will be able to help because ple doing this things, will always have the feeling of being rich b4, as well as winning in lottery b4.. Because of the sudden windfall they have, makes them think that y should they work so hard when they can just cheat and scam.. I too hate these kinda ple!!

I agree that scam artist are usually horrible people who prey on the vulnerable and the naive, be they old aged pensioners or simply young kids who do not know better. I agree that scam artist often betray the very ideals that make society great - namely the ideal that if you are willing to work hard and be lucky you can achieve a great many things. The good news of course, is that scam artist get so used to thinking they are cleverer than anyone else and as a result they end up getting caught. However, there are cases when the it often says more about the victim than it does about the scam artist. Scam artist are usually very good at appealing to people's greed and tell you things that make your emotions get the better of your common sense. So whatever one says of scam artist - I would suggest we should just teach our kids the value to scepticism and about keeping their common sense.

Yup.. it all boils down to when we are kids.. If we have an average life, not poor and not too rich, than scamming will not come to us.. Because maybe only the poor will resort to scam to get quick money for their family, and those rich ple whom has gone bankrupt overnight.. They just think that only ple with money will get respected.. But in fact they are all wrong.. ANd u are right, the more cleverer they get, the more they will expose themselves..

I want to know the same thing, especially when it is dealing with money. They are targeted here. This is where they feed off people. I am with you on this one, it has to be something done about this. But how can we make it happen? I know this is going to be a fight. It is not good for society, that is true. People just need to stop being so conniving and try to be more honest. It really would do some good. There has got to be a law for this. If not, they need to hurry up and make one so these dirty criminals can go behind bars!

I agree with you on all your points. But, scammers will always be around, I feel. Some people are just like animals in that they will use other people for their own survival instead of doing the Godly thing and helping others selflessly. It's just that some people don't care about anyone other than themselves or they feel like the world owes them something. That's just how I feel about scammers. I think we could have stiffer laws, but there will always be someone who will see a loophole or something.

Hi gxnfly-there is so many scam artists out there now and more up and coming that I feel that there will never be a solution to it all-its a shame they cannot be detected that easily-as for me I ignore emails etc that I don't know and try to do the best not to go on sites that could have-but how can you do that even as when one site gets infected so do all the rest! Its never ending and doubt that anyone will ever stop them all-littleowl

I agree with you. Scam artist when caught should be imprisoned for years and requires no bail. If ever Im on the position to give punishment, I will hang them upside down. Hehe!

I don't think there is a class or education that can help people who are already scam artists. I understand why they say education. What they mean is if you educate the young better and prepare them for the world of real work then you would have less crime. If there were more jobs that paid better money that would probably be true. The solution to this problem is far larger than this right now though. A lot of people who commit these types of crimes are doing it because they NEED the money. I'll grant that some of it is pure greed but some is survival. The world has to change a lot before we will see these people go away completely. We need a stronger economy, better paying jobs, as well as stiffer penalties for criminals. We need to make it more comfortable and profittable to go to work and less comfortable and profitable to commit crime.

this is the big problem of all people nowadays because you can't trust anyone. how we wish to live without crime, no one to worry, no fence in every house, no anxiety. day by day the crime increase even professionals did wrong and commit crimes. it is not education we need but we need to change our attitude because our attitude is the caused of this problems.

I think that the best thing that can be done is awareness and caution. Don't set yourself up to be scammed. Question everything that you are not certain of. And, especially on the internet, if you are not certain it is on the up and up, find another way to get what it is you are seeking.

I am with you. Scam artist when caught should be imprisoned for years and requires no bail. ( If I ever sit in the authority, I will send them to hell )
