I got an email from my sister in law this morning telling us that my neice made the cheerleading squad and that she is doing a fund raiser. The fund raiser had an on line link, so you could shop the catalog on line and place your order on line, and give the childs name and organization code so they get credit. Of course I want to help out my neice so I go to the catalog on ine. I decide what I want to order which is rediculasly over priced, which is customary for these types of fund raisers. I then go to check out and see that they are charging a rediculas $8.50 shipping price. This is very annoying to me. Why can't they just have the kids deliver the items? That shipping price is rediculas and with that I ended up spending nearly $40.00 for a cheese platter. Even charities are trying to rip us off these days. Anyone else experience this type of over charging when it comes to helping a loved one out with a fund raiser?

Fund raising is always over priced. The company needs to make a profit for it's products and the organization needs to make a profit as well. This is why Bake sales are so much better when Fund raising. All the prices are reasonable and all the profit goes right to the organization. My son's school did about 5 different fund raisers this year and none of them had to do with online shopping. They were told just to sell to the family and than a parent picks up all the stuff when it is delivered. I would never pay shipping and handling on a fund raiser. I was ask my sister if she is able to just pick it up from the cheer leading squad instead of having it delivered right to your door.
