I had a gray keyboard for about a million and a half years. I had one that might have been, oh, maybe circa 1982 (if not older! lol). The gray keyboard I had looked so blah and dingy and showed every bit of grime imaginable. No matter how much I tried to clean it, nothing helped. ICK!
I finally upgraded to a new computer not long ago and got a spiffy black keyboard to go with. I think the black looks really sharp and clean compared to the gray.

My keyboard is black, though I think some of the paint is coming of it.
Actually, I'm getting a new one soon. A wireless one because I am sick of the cord getting in my way. Will get a matching mouse too. Maybe in hot pink! lol. Even better, glow in the dark!

hi xboxboy my keyboard is also a sickly grey with
a space bar that sticks and makesmywordslooklike this.
Isn't that just so exasperating? When I took typing
in highschool many years back our keyboards were black
and no letters on them lol sure made it easy to learn
typing though and it has helped me on mylotting. But
I agree I would like black keyboards a lot better.

I have never had a grey keyboard. I have owned three keyboards so far and all of them have been black. the one that i have now is black and it is also lined with silver too. It is neat looking because the silver section has many buttons for options to participate in making your picture arrangements.

Actually, mine's kind of bloodshot - is it sick or just hung over again?

The keyboard in my compuer (a laptop) is a silver-grey colour. It doesn't really matter to me what colour my keyboard is, as long as it works. I like my computer just the way it is. The way I type, I don't need to look at the keyboard. LOL I have the entire thing memorized.

The keyboards that I use at home, even the ones on the laptop, are all black with white printed characters and symbols.
I wouldn't mind having it in another color, white is too common and black goes along with it though, if I were to choose between white and black, I'd surely choose black.
Now, I've seen green keyboard, red keyboards but, what color would be nice..?

I have an Offspring illuminated keyboard so it is sort of egg shell with silver trim when the light is off and when it is on, then the keys are back-lit in blue, but the LED indicators are green. The keyboard that came with the computer was black but I threw it away. I type very fast, and the keys were not laid out ergonomically on that one, so I bought a really pretty white wireless illuminated keyboard, but I threw that one away, too, because there was a lag that slowed me down. The third time was a charm. Although much cheaper than the white one, this keyboard performs very well.
What happened to your black one? Also have you seen those red light keyboards that are just a grid projected onto your desk and have no keys at all? I forgot what they are called.
