With the way the ecomomy is, Would you ever do a vacation house swap with someone, in lieu of staying in a condo or a hotel, where they’d come and live in your house for their vacation, and you’d go and live in their house for a vacation?

I'd swap with you, ANYTIME, Rose! LOL! I've never been to Texas.. (I'm used to S. Fla's HOT and HUMID so it's nothing to me. lol!) And you get to see the beaches 15 mins away from where I live. And play with my toys! LOL! And I'd be happy to swap homes with people I KNOW as long as they promise me they won't sneak off with my stuff... Cause if they do, I'll hex them. LOL! I wouldn't swap homes with strangers.. Who knows what skeletons would be hiding in their closets?? Ew! I don't need to be in a stranger's kitchen and open one of their cabinets to look for drinking glass and have a monster jump out at me. *big hugs!* ~Moxie

Rosie, in your case I could only do a vacation house swap if you stayed home so that I could pamper and cosset you. Then you could come to ours and I'd do it all over again. and again, and again, and again.

She must have been on her way over for some pampering Ellie. Good job she found you. I had better put a saucer of milk, or cream out tonight just in case.

Howdy Rosekitty, actually that sounds quite exciting, although I do not know why anyone would want to come here where I live, I live in a very small town and its at least 100 miles in any direction to get to anything remotely exciting... LMAO But yeah I would think about it.

Mmm..I don't know..I'd be kind of nervous of staying at someone else's home in case I damaged something, and I be a wreck wondering if they were damaging anything of mine, unless both sides agreed to sign some kind of agreements that any damages done would have to be either replaced or at least given the monetary value of the item--I mean I definitely wouldn't want someone puttering around and using my computer...ekkkkk! Besides most people probably wouldn't know how to use a Mac computer..LOL Not that I'm ready to zoom out and go on vacation as I just don't have the funds, but I never was too keen on large hotels anyway...my idea would be to spend a vacation at a bed and breakfast type place which is usually a lot cheaper

I would consider it- especially if it were someplace that I always wanted to visit but couldn't afford otherwise. I don't see anyone wanting to stay at my home though. I mean - I have a very nice home- but it's not in the best neighborhood in town- the area is being revitilized over time, which is why I bought in this area- but right now it's not the greatest place to be after dark if your not from here.

I believe that I would but my house is so small and and older home that I can't imagine anyone wanting to swap with me.. Ours is a smaller 2 bedroom home which is perfect for my husband and myself but not big enough for much more that 2 people.. Now I would swap for a condo on the beach, sound like fun..

That would be fun. It would have to be someone I knew more than just a complete stranger.

I really wouldn't be comfortable doing something like this. I would be concerned about things in my home and accidents happening while I was in their home. I would be miserable if I broke a glass or spilled something. I would feel worse if something happened to them while in my home. It would have to be someone I was really close to. Too many people have let me down when it comes to my furbabies.
