Now they have a parade for the vegetables in New York... Rain or shine, the parade is expected to wend its way through Manhattan's old meatpacking district on Sunday before ending at Washington Square Park. Along the route, costumed bride and groom Penelo Pea Pod and Chris P. Carrot will exchange veggie vows and ask observers to "Give Peas a Chance" and "Go Vegetarian!" Are you a vegetarian? What do you think of this. I am not a vegetarian but I do find this to be an interesting event. I'm a flexitarian, that is I eat a plant-based diet with a little meat. I love people promoting vegetables, but I think a parade is overblown. I think it's a bad idea, also, to have this parade through the old meatpacking district if there are still meatpacking businesses there (I know very little about New York, so it could just be a name and there aren't any meat-packing business there anymore).
