The thing that has worked best for me is the South Beach Diet. It's not really a diet, but a way of eating. You learn to eat proteins, good fats, and good carbs like vegetables and whole grains. You make this a lifestyle. Once you get used to eating this way, you lose your cravings for bad carbs and sweets and you lose the weight -- quickly at first, then slowly but steadily after that.

Honestly, some keys to losing weight are eating more fruits and veggies (which no one wants to hear) and drinking a lot of water throughout the day. Things like broccoli are very filling and nutritious but have no fat. Eating less sugar and drinking less soda. Juice is good because it is natural. And don't cut out sweets altogether. That will only make you want them more! Treat yourself to a little candy daily if you want to. Drink a lot of water through the day. Just watch what you eat and make some substitutions like carrot sticks for potato chips, etc. Bell peppers are tasty and healthy. Exercise a little bit each day. Take a half hour walk or a short jog. This also makes you feel good and energized. It just takes a little bit of time--not that long to see changes. It's all about just changing behavior a little--then it becomes habit! Good luck.

Actually nothing short of rat poison works... you have to. Proper diet seems to be the greatest factor according to the latest research... then adequate exercise.

Hi for weight control its not important to eat less but what is important is what we eat. I have read and seen and practiced these concepts of balanced high fibre and low fat natural vegetarian diet. This contains maily of sprouted pulses and simple vegetables which can be prepared tastily but take less then 5 ml oil in your diet. Also it is necessary to take negitive calory foods as salads like raw cucmbers, carrot, etc. these do not contribute much to calories but give other useful nutrition. All the best.

Follow the Canadian Food Guide or the U.S. Food Pyramid and move everyday for at least 20 minutes. Even if you can't do 20 minutes straight - break it up.
