If you teach dance, any style, jump in and give me some information. I have been teaching dance since 1973 in ballet, tap, jazz, some hip hop, ballroom, acrobatics and musical theater. I used to own a dance school and just retired from it in 2007. I still teach, but only part time, as I am semi-retired and a grandmother (or as they call me, "Nana".). :D

I started out in helping to teach dance 10 years ago. It was interpretive dance, teaching girls ages 7-10.. Then I went onto learning Davidic Dance and had danced at festivals and churches around the area..and then about 7 years ago I not only started teaching what I knew, but making up my own choreography.. I did this for about 3 years. Now, during the fall/winter months I go to a Worship Watch where I am still learning and teaching dance..Some with a little ballet or jazz to it..

Is Davidic Dance anything like Liturgical? I have several students who dance Liturgical for their churches.

Yes, kind of..It is Jewish folk dancing, most of which was circle dancing, but could also be line dancing or even freestyle.. This is something the Gentile church had taken out..Dancing was a big part of the Jewish lifestyle including their worship. In the last 10 years or so, people are coming back to where the church really began, with real Jewish roots, some are minimizing or even eliminating the Gentile part of their services..It is a slow and quiet change, but it is happening..
