nanajanet I have never had heat stroke, nor known anyone to have had it. A little dehydration, but cured by drinking water. I am surprised that he did not carry water with him, to drink on his journey. Why did you give him a drink from mango and not just water? For...

In the Jagannath temple at Puri we have God Jagannath, Balabhadra and their sister Goddesses Subhadra as principal deities. [b]There are so many rituals followed for them from early morning till late night. As if they are...

nanajanet That sounds like an amazing feast! Some of the dishes sound very sweet. I am amazed at the fact that if you leave food, others will eat your leftovers. That would never be allowed in the USA, due to strict health laws, all leftovers must be thrown away, which...

nanajanet I think that the US should let countries handle their own wars, etc. He was not a good man, and I am not sure this regime is much better, but it all comes down to oil. If US did not need the oil, we would not have gotten involved.

nanajanet We just had one last night, 1:30 am to 3:00 am. Wind and a tree took down a power line. Now why not cut trees near the lines BEFORE they fall. Keeping squirrels out, they can't chew through steel, so that would help.

nanajanet The problem, in the USA, is that children are overbooked, appeased, and spoiled by parents who were the same. Not all, but enough to make us crazy. When I started teaching, this was so rare. 40 years later, it's insane. They need to live their lives with...

nanajanet Yes, the more rural areas, like us, are the last to get repair. Sometimes it's not their fault, but there are things that they can do, to insure lines don't come down. Thanks.

nanajanet Around here, when we had an ice storm, so many trees fell and took down power lines. There are still some tress, laying on lines. My idea would be NOT to put them near tall trees or cut down or top off, those trees. Just a matter of common sense, yes?
