I was at a major High School Track meet and was taking photos forthe local paper when I caught this one. To me one of the best action shots at a track meet is the Hurdlers. You are able to capture the action and see the person. All too often in the action events like High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump and Shot Put to get the action you give up the persons face or you get the face and not the action. This shot captured both. I was delighted when I saw the results. The girl in the front also had near perfect form in clearing the Hurdle.

Wow, that is a very good shot. The only thing I would recommend is that it be sharped after resizing as it tends to blur the photo a little. I'm sure it's not really blurry, but resizing it often does that.
But, you have a great picture there and you used the same kind of camera that I also own, but I don't have that lens. You might want to consider entering it into competition as the composition is also nearly perfect.

I am checking on model releases and If I need one. It was a public event and there are no identify names or anything on the girls.
I bought the lens on ebay from someone who bought out an estate and did not know what they had. I paid less than $100.00 for the lens. It works great. It is one of those ebay great deal stories.

Yeah, that's where I got my camera. It didn't have a lens and it was used, so people weren't really bidding on it. It turns out that it was hardly used at all and it came in perfect condition. I bought a lens separately and, overall, I paid less than I would have gotten it anywhere.
