Have you seen the River Rheine ?

Yes, I passed by it when i was on my train from Amsterdam to Frankfrut.

Many years ago I was stationed in Germersheim(Near Heidelberg) on the Rhine. Altogether, I spent about 7 years in Germany and my two oldest children were born there. Their Mother(my wife) made sure they spoke German before they ever learned English. Needless to say, I learned to speak German. I have not been back since 1968, although my son has been back several times to see his Grandmother. I know a lot has changed since then but I will always have a very warm spot in my heart for Germany. After all that time there, I actually struggled with the fact that I did not want to leave. I guess I sort of equate Germany with my youth, that is now gone.

I've visited Lake Constance (Known Locally as the Bodensee) which is the Source of the Rhine...I've also been to Frankfurt,having flown from there when I left..I haven't been to many other European ountries to be able to compare their Rivers,though!

I haven't been to Germany in about 5 years, but yes, the Rhine is beautiful. I took a boat cruise on the river with my parents when we were there. It was amazing. My boyfriend has never been, but is obsessed with Germany and this is definitely on my list of places I have to take him!

Yes in 1992 my husband and I spent 11 days in Germany. We were visiting our son who was stationed in Frankfurt. We took a river cruise up and down the Rhine. It was spectacular, we will go again some day.
