Do You Know Whether You Are Being Watched Through A Two Way Mirror?

This is not to scare you, but to make you aware.
A policewoman who travels all over the U.S. and gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen passed this on.
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e., they can see you,but you can't see them)?
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms.
It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it.
So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at? Just conduct this simple test:
Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then
it is a GENUINE mirror.
However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!
So remember, every time you see a Mirror, do the 'fingernail test.' It doesn't cost you anything.
Remember: 'No Space, Leave the Place'
Hi I received this and thought I would share and to make into a discussion would you please share with me any changing room horrors you have experienced. Mine is usually the harsh light that scares me rather than the thought of being watched, I'd probably scare them more LOL. Does the thought of being watched in this way bother or worry you.

Very interesting information, how sad that there are so many people out there that tries to invade our personal space. I think even if you test it and find out it is a real mirror I would still cover the whole mirror with a sheet or large towel just to be on the safe side. Can you imagine someone making a video of people not knowing and posting that on the internet. Just the thought makes me sick. Thanks for posting this.

Apparently I was given false information but I do know for a fact that two way mirrors do exsist as my old boss had one so that he could see who was in reception but because the other side was a mirror the people in reception couldn't see him. It also meant he could see me at all times too. Saying that though it does make you wonder and also about hidden cameras etc eh! Ellie :D @marketing07 (6266)

Sure, it is very good reminder. Many months ago someone else was talking about the same email and other people responded with snopes page. This is how I knew about false email.
It is very good warning always.
We are being watch everywhere now.
It is always good to check.
HUGS

It would definately bother me to think I was being watched...and more so wondering why they were watching me! Thanks for the info. I have never heard of this test but I will definately use it if I feel uncomfortable...like someone might be watching me....In fact when I read it I had get up and test it on my own mirrors! LOL

Apparently everyone does that after reading. In response two though there is a link that says this is false which I didn't realise, however my old boss had a two way mirror from his office into reception where he could see out to me and clients but that couldn't see into the office so it still bothes me and hidden cameras eh! Hi Sweets
Thanks so much for the info
I never think about things like this
But a friend from another city
was a victim of a guy that had a camera
in a duffle and took a video under her skirt
She got a call from a policeman..
It had happened at a store opening!
