Yup, I do reread books that are my favorite too. I remember when I was young, I loved Enid Blyton books and the Five Find-Outers were one of my favorite series from Enid Blyton. I'm not really sure how many times I reread that mystery series but I am sure it would have been more than 50 times (because I still read them even when I was a teenager!). But when the Harry Potter craze came, I was one of those mad fans out there. When I managed to get the book, I read like so many times I even lost count of the number of times I read it. I would estimate reading the Harry Potter series about 30+ times already. And I'm still reading them!

yes definitely! i'm kind of crazy i remember when i was little i had this story book entitled "My first day in school" or something like that, I read it everyday on the potty until i memorized it lol but yeah, i just reread Smith of Wooton Major (Tolkien) and this time i understood the story better and was even moved by it. I also have this favorite sherlock holmes mystery (one of the shorter ones) "the mystery of the dying detective." i really love it and i can't remember how many times i've reread it.

No, once is enough. once i know how it turned out, that's the end. That way you get to read many more books.

I don't get much time to read at the mo, but yes I do like to re read my favorite books, they are like old friends and I love to re read them and refresh my mind with the story and the parts that I can't always remember that well. If you are feeling sad then its a good way to make yourself feel happy by re reading a book that you have already read , its no difference than contacting an old friend when you are in need

I have reread a lot of classic literature, and a lot of poetry. I usually leave long enough between reads to forget details of the plot and it's nice to meet the characters again. Sometimes I have a difference reaction to a book when I read it at different times in my life.

It depends actually. If I can't find a new book to read, then I stick with the old ones and reread them for a refresher. It so happens that you understand a book better if you read it for three of four times. Lines and quotes from books get imbedded in the head and can be used now and then and flaunt your vocab..... Its always for the greater good bourne

Rereading old books is like uniting with an old friend. Like you some of my favourite stories have been read dozens of times. There is something comforting about curling up in a chair with a well worn copy of a good novel.
