when it first Came out (being popular) I thought this cant be good, BUT doctors said it was safe, and everyone said it'S no problem
but how would we know we havent had any long term Studies on this
you are Zapping your eyes With lasers, this cant be safe.
and now storieS Have come out, where people say they suffer from consTant eYe problems such as seeing halos areound lights, blured or hazy vision (permanent), itchiness, need of a corneal transplant, droppy eyelids
these are serious vision problems, and a small risk of going BLIND!
is this worth not having to wear glasses anymore???

I think laser eye surgery is safe for the most part. My step-dad had laser eye surgery and it turned out very well for him, but my mother-in-law had it done to her eyes and she lost total sight in one of them. I think it is because she did not or was not able to care for it very well. She was in her 80's at the time. I think there are risks for everything and what is good for some, may not be the best thing for others.

In 1999 I was determined to undergo the procedure. I had a couple of visitors who were doctors and one of them had looked into it. What he told me was:
1. we don't know the long term effects
2. there's a chance that you will end up with uncorrectable vision problems (blurriness)
3. it doesn't fix presbyopia (needing reading glasses)
Based on this information, I decided not to do it.
But my sister has done it and had a good result and she is really happy with it.
