i have attended about 2 of such yard sales and it was held by a buch of teenagers who got their old stocks together to help pay their friend"s examination fees it was a big sell out because many that attended the sale were impressed at the reason for the sale,

I think a yard sale or a garage sale would be a great idea , we only have car boot sales and I don't have the energy to do one of them :) xx

Hi Sis How does that work? Do you take your unwanted items and sell them from your car? xoxoxoxoxo

people take small tables with them and display things on them and things in the car boot and hanging all around the car some times, My DIL sister makes quite a lot of money doing them , If I were fitter I would do it too , xx

I love Yard sales! I dont care much for having one myself though. It is to much work for me. LOL But my kids are still young and it is SOO much cheaper to get their clothing from yard sales. It isnt like they will actually be able to wear them for much longer anyways. My grandma actually found a VERY old coffee perculator at a yard sale....and turned around and sold it for $400 on ebay.

I get a kick out of yard sales and enjoy going to them and talking with the people who have them. Having said that, I must admit I rarely do go. I don't have the time away from the house and also usually tell myself I don't need anything. The latter is true. At my point in life, I have most of the "stuff" anyone needs or wants. Still, I think roving garage sales is an easy, inexpensive activity to enjoy. Certainly a lot more fun to go than have one!

I'll sometimes stop at one. My hubby likes looking for stuff that he could buy and flip on Ebay for a higher price and I like looking for old jewlery that I might be able to breakdown for pieces to be used ina new jewelry creation. As far as doing one, my family always holds one and we've done fairly well at them. We get rid of all the boys clothing (and what doesn't sell goes to the thrift store)old toys, games, baby stuff (stroller, hi-chair, crib etc)I even put out some of my inexpensive handmade jewelry. It's usually a fun day and after the sale, the family stays for a BBQ. I'd much rather go to one than hold one, because you just never know what you'll find at someone's yard sale.

I love yard sales. I haven't been to one in awhile because the weather's been nasty and i already have too much clutter as it is :) I desperately need to have one and plan on having it as soon as I have time to go through all of our boxes in our garage :)

i love to go to garage sales as i can always find good bargains from there... it is always nice to go to that kind of sales and being able to grab a bargain... i, myself have lots of things to get rid off in my house... so i am planning to organise a garage sales soon as well when i have time... i can use some of the cash that i can get from the sales as well to pay for my bills... take care and have a nice day...

Here we have car boot sales and I love browsing around them picking up the odd little bits and pieces. I know I should finish decluttering my house and pack it all up to do a boot sale myself just to get rid of the clutter in the house.

Hi raydene! I do love going to garage sales or yard sales. Most of the time, I can always get a good find and I can get them at a very cheap price. However, this coming June I am preparing to have my own garage/yard sale for there are a lot of stuffs in our storage that are still good and can still be used by others but we don't use them anymore. So, this will help somehow to make me some money. haha..Hopefully I can really go through it and somehow will gain me some extra money. Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

I hate shopping in all forms , I get panic attacks. I ve been to a couple of carboot sales as a seller but only just covered my costs -lol, my two attempts at ebay selling have been disastrous but I am a terrible hoarder and still have lots of kiddies stuff, prams , pushchairs etc though my youngest is 12! There is a clause in house deeds that prevents garage sales but as long as the neighbours dont complain I suppose I could give it a go and let the kids stand outside - I thought I might have a go at selling some of my paintings that way in the summer -if we have a summer. josie x ps I called myself onamission2earn on this site and have earned , wait for it, 1 cent!

I love to go to yard sales. I have bought so many things at them. Lately its been raining just about every weekend and I haven't been able to get to them as much as I would like.

i love garage sales more than thrift stores because sometimes you can get stuff a lot cheaper (we got two pairs of roller blades for our daughters this past weekend for $2- each!) and having garage sales are a great way to make some extra cash. last year we had 3 garage sales and this year are doing the same!

I like to go to sales, but I rarely buy anything -- not because I'm cheap, but because I ask myself "Do I really need that?" and the answer is usually, "No." But I did buy a pair of silver hoop earrings a couple weeks ago at a yard sale for $1. They were similar to a pair I had been wearing for a long time but lost one of. I didn't really "need" them, as I have lots of other earrings, but these would be my "everyday" pair. As for holding my own sales, I haven't had much luck with them.

I go to them sometimes but I end up buying things I dont need I have a shed full of stuff now I dont need, I have never done a sale and I am no good at selling stuff so I will see if I can find someone who need some stuff and give it to them before my husband takes it to the tip.
