Dads Dr's Vist

Things went well for both dad and I. I got all my prescriptions refilled and healthwise I am good. Dad got a new prescription for a nagging cough and his heart is slightly emlarged but otherwise he is well alos for his age and condition. Dad was not happy goping at all but that's life. I had forgotten to set up some PT for dad but I will do that with his heart Dr next month when he goes in for a tune up there. So just wanted to updat all here. Thanks bunches.

I am glad to hear that everything is good! I share in the enlarged heart thing as I was born with a hole in my heart, a broken down valve and one that wasn't there so, my heart is a bit bigger than the average person. No biggie when everything else is under control!
Keep taking good care of him and yourself!

I'm glad your dad is pretty much OK. He is so blessed to have you. My grandfather was just diagnosed with skin cancer. He already is battling dementia. It just seems so sad to see someone formerly so full of life, now dependent about others. But having family take care of their own really softens the blow. It's a privilege to have my grandfather with me, and our family will do everything we can to keep him as well as possible. Between you and Buster, I think your dad is going to come out all right. : )

Sorry to hear about your granddad. Dad has lousy memory recall but I'd call it slight dementia. He is mentally stable still able to balance his chechbook etc and handle lifes ordeals as long as he is reminded though. Thanks also.

My son was seeing a cardiologist every six months, and since he's has been ok since the last visit, it's now once a year. I'm glad that they were able to diagnose his heart murmur as being MI or MR (mitral regurtitation or mitral insufficiency). He doesn't need to take any medications or injections either thank God. He just isn't allowed to do excessive weight lifting - so no body building for him lol.
I'm glad your dad is doing well healthwise.

My wife was diagnosed many many years ago with a heart murmur and nothing was done and she is fine today with no heart problems at this time. Glad your son is okay as well. Thanks also. He was cranky till the next morning though.

It's good to know your dad is doing well.
He is strong for a man his age, and i hope he's soon free of that nagging cough.It's wonderful to have a son like you to take care of him, i can only hope that one day should i need them my children be there for me the waY you are there for your dad. Best wishes**GRANDPA BOB.

he is not strong. Strong willed yes but he does not do anything but walk to the dining room, the bathroom, his chair in front of the Tv and to bed. He is getting physical therapy soon once again, though and this time I am not letting him quit.

Tests, doctors, and therapies. It is a lot to fill your time and empty your pockets. I am glad they went pretty well. Take care of both of you.

All told with lab work, x-rays, and the appts we were there about 3 hours. Ughhh! He was one cranky old man by the time we got home.

Glad to hear dad is doing great and you as well. I gotta go to the dr. about my high bp this Friday and get another script for more meds. So far, it's staying down with meds. I tried keeping it down thru herbs and exercise but it's being stubborn so now it's meds.

That's great you are both doing so good. I'm sure you are taking good care of your dad, so he's lucky to have such a good son.
By the way, Happy Birthday, (on the 25th). I'll be visiting my son Sunday to help him celebrate. We're going to have a big cookout, and make a giant pot of jambalaya.
