A timber wolf tried to get my dog today

I stopped to visit my parents tonight on the way home. When i go to work my little dog spends the day outside with my cocker spaniel. While i was visiting them my parents neighbour called to talk to my dad. He was kinda yelling.
He told my dad he had been driving by my place and saw a timber wolf chasing my "little yappy dog" and that he had stopped in the yard and chased the timberwolf to the east. After chasing the wolf off he stopped to check to make sure my little dog wasn't injured.
She's fine. And Its just another incident that makes me appreciate living in a small town where everyone knows who i am.
The neighbour has also said that if the timber wolf comes back I'm to call him or my dad so they can get it away again.

Oh my word!
I am so glad that your little dog is fine and that you have great neighbors. Is there any way to keep the wolfves away from your house?
What are your dad and neighbor going to do if it should come back?
I guess I would keep my dogs inside if I am not home after that.

This is the first time I've had a wolf problem around my house. Usually they stay pretty clear of the houses. I guess i need to spend more time outside making it smell like people!
I think my dad/neighbour intend to shoot the wolf if it comes back. Its also causing problems with the cattle so...as a farmer my dad has the right to protect his livestock.
I'm not too sure though if thats what they intend.

Ok, here is a thought, I seen this one show and they took human urine and put a barrier around where they were ataying at to keep bears away, so I wonder if this would work for the wolf.
I know it sounds very sick, but just an idea. Or I know to keep deer away you place human hair cuttings around the area, but not sire if this will work for a wolf either.
Good luck.

We have foxes all over town, and an occasional coyote. We are not in an area where there are wolves. I do worry about the foxes and the kitties. It is good to be where people know and care about you. Our town used to be like that, but it is getting too big, and too mobile, people move a lot anymore. You be sure to get someone to help you with the timberwolf.

I love seeing the foxes around. We have coyotes around as well, theyre major pests during calving season so i dont like them much. My sister chased two out of the yard (coyotes) at mom and dads this morning with her car, they were chasing their tomcat.
About the timberwolf..it moved on to the neighbours house, ate a calf and ended up being put down.
