This is the Lilac bush I planted 2 years ago. This is the first flower on the bush this year. I think it’s very pretty and it is a deep purple. I was wondering if there’s a certain way to prune the bush to produce more flowers in the following years? Is there anything at all that can be done to produce more flowers next year at all? Thanks all.

After the flower has dried up I trim it off and I don't know if this is the correct way, but my bushes have produced more from doing this..In fact I just trimmed mine yesterday..

Those are very pretty, yours are a lighter purple than mine..I would like to get a darker purple and white lilac bushes, but for now, I have to concentrate on my hedges..

Our lilac boosh was here when we bought the house, they say you are suppossed to trim them down but we have never touched ours. When we first moved here the bush was maybe 4 feet tall, and 3 feet wide. Now it about 10 feet high and about 10 feet wide. It blooms fully every year and is absalutely beautiful.

Does it get lots and lots of sun? That's all I know about it, and I only know that because our two of our dark purple lilac bushes both got shaded out. They're the hardest ones, that I know of, to get the shoots for transplanting too. But I did manage to transplant a rather tiny one this year to a new sunnier location!

The only idea I have for you is to plant more bushes lol. You know how far my green thumb goes.
