Do you have true friends that are there through it all or one that is and the rest just there?

I have quite a few friends who are always there for me and always support me. I realise I am very blessed in this and do appreciate how lucky I am! xxx

mummymo I can actually see why you have quite a few friends as just by the way you are in here. To me you sound like a kind and gentle person who has not let any past upsets do harm to who you are. Unfortuantely I have not been so lucky and am very wary of people. Now that is sad!

I have found true friends are very hard to find, I had one really true friend but she passed away suddenly 2 years ago, I have other friends but they just never seem to be there for me as I am for them, just when I need someone there is never anyone there, strange that....bit sad.

That is very sad lilaclady having lost your only true friend in that way. I think these days people have such busy lives and don't seem to have the time to stay in touch or give when they are needed. In the past I used to try too hard and always give of myself, but not receive much in return. Now that I am a little more "mature" it does not bother me that much anymore. I am here if needed but do not go out there looking anymore.

One friend is important to me... my wife. Other people I take as I find them and treat them according to their attitudes and behaviour. If someone doesn't like my company, I don't go out of my way to connect with them. Have a good one caramello!

I guess aside from our family and relatives, they are the next best option for us to find comfort and happiness. There are things that I prefer to confide to them, rather than with my friend. Because I know they know me more than who I actually am than my family, since we get to share our secrets and spend more time with them the most (I guess). Same thing goes the on other hand, they would tell things to you that they prefer to NOT share with their family because of some complicated reasons. I have been friends with people whom I know more than half of my life, we are still together and our bond is stronger the longer we stick with one another..

Being able to confide in someone makes life a little easier and by the sounds of your circle of family and friends you are doing fine. Thank-you for sharing this.

Have some of both the kinds. Some that can get me out of any troubles. Some who can put me through any kinds of trouble. So I have just forgotten and do not care much about the ones who put me through troubles. I have fun with the people who care about me and live life with them. They also enjoy my company and its always fun when we get together. bourne

That is nice to know you have a circle of people who are there for you. And that they enjoy your company as makes a big difference to ones life when this happens.

You are so right......true friends are hard to find. But just knowing at least one is there for you, sometimes is all you need.

I wish I had more friends. Who doesn't? People I know have a huge list of people they can call at a moment of need or even if they want to go out and party. That would be so nice to have a life like that. Don't thinkg I am non-social. I can start a conversation with anyone in any situation. It is a matter is there is no one that I can really call when I need them. A true friend. I wish I knew what one was!

True friends are not so easy to find and what I have found is that it is about giving and taking on both sides. If it is one-sided then the word true is not in it. I have one good friend and she has heaps of friends but seems to have time for me in my needy times which is nice, but these type of friends I have found to be rare. I hope one day very soon you will find that one true friend and you will find out what it is like.
