Spring is here! I've planted lavender, mint, a bunch of various flowers, and a couple of more herbs, but I can't remember which ones... So, are you planting anything new this spring? Are you sprucing up a long time garden? Maintaining what you have? What are your gardening goals for this Springtime?

I am planting tomatoes, peppers and a variety of herbs. I have doubled the space in my garden and will attempt to grow things. I will also plant leaf lettuce when the weather gets cooler again. I am looking forward to my garden this year.

Just a word of caution...Mint, wonderful Mint, next year you will have Mint everywhere! For your own sanity, Mint is best planted in a container! It is so very prolific, it's roots will travel forever under ground and eventually choke out your whole garden. When you try to get rid of it, if you leave the tiniest piece of root...it will invade you again! Just another word of caution...DO NOT let it go to seed...you will be inundated, and so will your neighbour's! 6 years ago, my tenant (unbenounced to me) planted mint in the property garden! I am still trying to rid my land of it! All forms of mint, German/Russian Chamomile, Comfrey, some forms of Oregano, Evening Primrose, Rue, Lemon Balm....are very prolific & invasive plants! Plant in containers, donot let go to seed...for your future sanity! Cheers!

I wanted to plant some lavender but that didn't happen. I'm not sure if anything that we usually plant in the garden has been planted or not. I think we have some tomatoes started somewhere but I'm really not sure about that. You see I don't do much the gardening so I can't be sure of what's going on until all this rain stops and someone can get out there and actually till the garden.
