Length of Time

I would like to personally thank all of my wonderful friends here at myLot for their concern over my recent absence. The fact that you cared about me was very touching indeed. This has led me to wonder what is the longest time any of you have ever been absent from myLot. If you have been away for a length of time was it due to computer or internet issues or simply just wanting to take a break? A couple of times in the past I have had to take a break for a day or two because it all became too emotional. That was my only previous reason for staying away from myLot. So, what about you?

I have had a couple of absences worldwise , one for a few weeks and the other for a few months - both times were cause of health problems and both times I was over the moon to get back as I had really missed being here! I am so glad that you are back and I hope that you don't have to have any more absences! xxx

I will try to stay the course, mummymo, but I have been having some issues with stress and really need to pick my priorities right now. Anyway, it's good to be back!

Your health is too important to mess with honey - just do what you feel up to and I will be glad to see you whenever you can make it! xxx

I'm sure glad to see that you are back. the longest time that I have ever been away from Mylot, was just last year. I had alot going on at the time and did not have much time for Mylot. I was gone for about 6 months but I still came and logged in and tried to be active when I could but it sure was not much at all. I still takes breaks from Mylot every now and then when my poor brain gets tired and I need some rest after working seven days per week online.

I did miss all of you so much, stephcjh! I am happy to be back but seem to be having a bit of trouble getting back into the swing of things. I know that it will get easier as the days go by though.

Hello my friend, I have just wanted and needed a break from this site, I didn't want to do a big discussion about leaving, because that way I can return any time and I certainly didn't want to close my account sometimes you need a break to think things more clearly, I still have a lot of work to do on myself, I am getting therapy and going to the gym 4 times a week is helping my mind and body and slowly but surely I am getting better. I do pop into Mylot now but I certainly not as active as I used to be, but one things for sure I do miss my friends here, but I am lucky that we have swopped emails so we can check up on each other etc, after all if it wasn't for Mylot I wouldn't have my lovely friends and adopted family x

It's so good to hear from you, wolfie! Having been away so much myself, it has been hard to know who else was away, but I did feel your absence the times that I did check in. I am happy to hear that you are making so much progress as we all need to take time out to work on ourselves from time to time. Best wishes!

I sort of fade in and out at mylot. When one of my friends post a good discussion I stop by and answer it (I have email notification of my good friends posts). Or if I hear about something I think would make a good discussion then I might swing by and post it. But I do so many other things, it doesn't seem like I am here all that much. Maybe I should drop by more often.

I guess I had become so accustomed to being here on myLot, Aurone, on a daily basis, that I am having difficulty getting back into the swing of things. I don't know whether it's the site that has changed or me.

Well lately I haven't been here as much as I usually am as I've been busy with my article writing and getting back to my novel writing...taking a day off from both to catch up on here...but so far I haven't missed a day here since I joined...I always manage to come here even if just for a little while. I'm glad to see you back here worldwise, as I really was very concerned when I didn't see you around, and even more so, when I emailed you and didn't hear from you. But glad you're okay

Oh, pyewacket, if I ever decided I have to leave myLot permanently I would find a way to get a message to my best friends. My biggest problem right now is regaining the enthusiasm I once had. It always happens when my normal routine is interrupted. I look forward to many more interesting discussions with all of you here.

Hi friend, thanks for adding me in your friend's list. Surely, as i told in other discussion i used to follow at least some of your topics, and analyse, how your are able to constantly hit the top spot in mylot. While doing so, i realised that for some days, you threads were unfound, and i concluded that perhaps you have switched to better paying forums. But now, i understand the reasons for your, not turning up here. I presume that you are alike me.. becoming too emotional. By yielding to emotions, i have lost many things in life. So, i request you friend, not to yield to emotions, what ever be the situation. On one or two days, my computer will non cooperate with me, but on many times.. i feel that my intelligence is untested both in my office and here in online, so on many occasions i just surf the sites in a relenting way, and turn of my Computer. This does not mean, that i have lost hope, but i always think that the world has not utlised " the best in me". Cheers friend. Have a good time.

What you say is indeed true, saivenkaat. We must not allow ourselves to become discouraged and weighed down by emotions. I have found that taking just a little bit of time out often helps.

I believe that everything happens for a reason, weemam, and I did get to catch up on some things I had been putting off while I was away.

I really do miss your discussions. They are very interesting and informative. I missed a few days in April when I went to visit our daughter in Arizona. Don't get to see the grandkids very often so my time was spent playing with the kids. I've been a member for over a year but didn't really become involved with myLot until last Sept. Was afraid to post anything because I sure thought nobody had the same interests as I do and really didn't know what to say to respond. Once I had the confidence to chime in on discussions, I became real involved and am loving it.

I've been trying to figure out how long I've been here, my profile says March 2007 but I thought it was longer than that...oh well. That means that the longest I've been away was the two days I spent in hospital recently. Otherwise it's only been every few months when I go to visit my Dad overnight...that's also 2 days out of my life. I get a bit upset here sometimes but I stay because I know I will be more upset an think about things more if I stay away.

Welcome back!!! What a great thing to see a discussion from you again!!! I really had worried about you...I searched all over looking for signs from you...then your granddaughter gave us the reassuring information that you would be back and that your health wasn't the issue...I was delighted!! In answer to your discussion I believe I have taken a couple of medical breaks and lately just a "lifestyle" break...too much to do for too many!!!! But I always try to read the discussions even if I can't respond...but now I'm trying to be checking in for friend's discussions at least 3 times a week!! Again...so glad to see your avatar back in the myLot arena!!! Welcome...and I hope your difficulties are no more!!

Thank you so much, rx4life! It is great to be back but I have grown lazy and find that I'm having to really prod myself to get any work done.It is getting better though.

How ironic that I find this post because I am finally back from having a broken down computer..Though the last few weeks I have tried to be active here, it was hard doing that for only the hour the library allows you..I think we lost the computer about the end of May and we got one temporary until ours is fixed just last night..So I guess that would be 3 months not counting the times I signed in for a short time..

Being an English teacher in a foreign country full time, and working as a freelance writer part time, my normal day to day life will often keep me away from myLot. I try to keep things balanced, but sometimes work is more demanding than others, which means that I'm unable to spend time here.

One of the great things about myLot, kriszelunka, is that there are no set schedules to adhere to. I am always happy to see one of your discussions or responses.

Hello granny! Unfortunately i'm not quite a daily regular on mylot. I enjoy spending time away from mylot because it gets a little frustrating at times. But i'm glad that you are back up and running for now.
