What are your worst experiences at Burger King?

I bought a veggie burger from BK and asked for specific condiments only. Isn't Burger King all about,
'Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us, all we ask is that you let us serve it your way?'
I think the person who took my order didn't believe in the Burger King creed, or didn't like me bothering him. Maybe he upheld the BK ideal too much and thought I only wanted the condiments? It was late at night and I drove too far away before I checked my order.
I got only the condiments, no veggie burger at all! I couldn't go back, but I was so hungry, I ate the bun with the condiments to hold off the hunger pangs!
What's your worst experience with Burger King?

I'm sorry, but Burger King hires idiots!! I ordered their Western BBQ burger several years ago, or something like that. It had some kind of sauce on it that I didn't want, so I asked if they'd use catsup and mayo instead. Well, not only did they leave off the sauce, but they left off every single other topping on the darned thing!! If I had wanted a plain, tasteless hamburger, WHY would I have ordered the special one??? I have NEVER actually gotten anything MY WAY at the drive through. They regularly screw up the order. Almost all of them do, but BK seems to be the worst. I had someone at Wendy's once throw packets of mayo at me because I had ordered my sandwich with mayo and they didn't include it, so I went back through the line. Absolutely the worst attitudes and customer service I've ever seen. And, I'm one who WOULD have gone back or at least have called and spoken with the manager, which I have also done. It's not that difficult to get something right. Mistakes happen, but they seem to happen so often with these places, it shows the work ethic is simply not there.

jerzgirl_ Wendy's threw packets of mayo at you! Ohoo_that's bad.
Fast food workers make a lot of mistakes. I agree with you_ even though they don't get paid much, it's not an excuse for poor work ethics.
I wonder if they were paid more, their attitude would change? Or, if they only qualify to work in fast food, maybe their whole outlook on life is filled with negativity.
However, someone has to work in fast foods and I like to think that if I did work in a place like that, I would still act as if I had a high paying job. It's impossible to know unless I did work there.
Too many people have bad BK experiences. I wonder if they'll go our of business?

Don't you just hate that when you don't check your order when you're right there at the drive through?
My worst Burger King experience was the fries. They were oabviously too old and weren't edible. I called the store after searching for the number and they said they would give me a credit the next time I came in. Big whoop huh?

Oh, I have to add something here. I went to Burger King today because it's close to work. I got their new sandwich - it has potatoes, onion, barbeque, lettuce, tomato on this very large thin patty. Ewwwww! First of all they forgot the potatoes and I ate half of it before I noticed. So I didn't go back and complain. Second of all, it was just not very good at all.

we don't have burger kings here in australia... we have hungry jacks... and i hardly go there because i am not a fan of burger... but i experience once that they give us the wrong order... fortunately, me and my hubby eat in the restaurant... so i bring the burger straight back to the counter and ask them to replace it... take care and have a nice day...

lingli_ Hi to australia. It's okay if you don't have Burger King, you're lucky.
Hungry Jacks sounds like a pancake restaurant. They sell hamburgers?
I don't eat meat burgers, only veggie burgers.
Thanks for dropping by, I love to hear what people from other countries tell me about their world.

scarlet-woman_ I know, right? Sorryeee your job doesn't pay well. I'm paying for the food you're serving, which indirectly means I'm paying your wages.
'Now, would you like to give me the correct order or do you want me to stop eating here and you will lose your job?' :)

I dun go to burger king that much.. hehe ^_^ I gues my worst experience will be, their service is far too slow.. LOL..
In any case for an F&B outlet, regardless fast food or resturant or cafes, customer's orders must be right and shall not condone any errors in a customer's food order..
As some customers may be allergy to some things in the food that the staffs wun know, so if the customer got the wrong order without knowing, something serious happen and they will have a right to demand compensation or legal rights to that outlet..

I've heard that complaint a lot! It's happened to everyone I personally know and to a lot of my net friends. Not only at Burger King, either.
Nope, that never happened but Taco Bell always messed up my order in Arizona, putting red sauce on instead of green. Very frustrating!

I rarely go there anymore once I read the calorie content!
I remember when Taco Bell first opened, the tacos were ten cents! Egad, I'm OLD!!!

I avoid Burger King. They would give me the wrong order every time. Most of the time they would charge me for something not in the bag. There are plenty of other places that I can eat that are quick and get exactly what I want the first time.

Our BK has got to be the worst one on the planet. The food is always cold and most of the time the order is screwed up. I love their onion rings and one time went threw the drive thru and ordered just onion rings and I go fries. You wouldn't think one order of onion rings would be a hard order to fill but I guess I was wrong.

I guess those employess have muscle memory, and the last thing their muscles remembered was reaching for and serving fries. Maybe they were out of onion rings and figured you didn't know the difference! lol
Burger King is getting a reputation for being the worst fast food place on the planet. How are they staying in business?

One thing you have to remember about ordering food at fast food resturants. If you have a special order and there are things you do and don't want on the sandwich. Make sure before you walk out or drive off look in the bag and make sure you have the correct order. That can happen when they are really busy. So don't you ever leave without making sure that they have the order correct. If its not correct they will fix it even if they have to do it all over again they will fix it.

twallace_ I know you're supposed to check and I always do except for this one particular horrible night that started out as a wonderful day. You had to have been there_
I have had them fix my order. They do get it right the second time and they are willing to fix it, I agree.

Mine would have to be a drive through experience. I ordered 2 grilled chicken sandwiches. I got back, and had 2 orders of chicken fries. Guess it was my own fault for not checking the bag. I check from now on.

I ordered a chicken sandwhich once and told them to hold the lettuce I wanted just mayo well I got the sandwhich and they held the mayo all right but they put the ENTIRE bottle of mayo on the sandwhich! Luckily I was eating there and took it back and said I can't eat this well then they give me a new one that does not even have enough mayo on it to taste it!

Burger King is up there on the list of fast food places I don't go to. The few times I've gone there have left really bad impressions about the place. One time I ordered a burger and it tasted like soap. I took it back up to exchange it and the person at the register was giving me the attitude. There were times when I've been ignored by the cashier person who is too busy goofing off with the people in the back. When they did get around to taking my order, they were super grumpy and very rude because I was obviously disrupting their fun. Since that was the only Burger King in town, I made it a point not to go there again.

Hahaha.I have one experience in burger king about the drinks, the staff told me whether I want small, medium or large, and I go for large, then my friend told me why I have large drinks, yet even you have small drinks you can go as many as you can with the drinks fountain hehehe.

I dont think I've had a over the top bad expeirence, but once the people at a certain burger king were very unproffessional. they were talking about anything and everything that wasnt job related, and they werent working just standing around, and their attitudes werent very friendly either.

Yeah I know Burger King is susposed to be about having it your way,I pesonally have never had a bad experience with the Burger King we go too, though we dont go to our local Burger King because it is always messy and I dont think anyone ever cleans the restaurant.

Can't say I've had any except for the mixed up orders that happen occasionally. Sometimes you order something and pay for it, but they never put it in the bag. I hate it when that happens. I WILL go back, no matter how far away I've driven.
Too many people working in fast food places like Burger King aren't paid very much and don't really care about anything except that it's a place for extra money. No offense to anyone working in these places, but the "lifers" there, the ones who work there for years, aren't rocket scientists! (Of course, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize there's nothing but condiments on a bun!)
I never thought about it before, but I guess that song could include, "Hold the burger, hold the lettuce..."

HA-ha, hold the burger, hold the lettuce.
I feel for people who have to work at crummy jobs. I do think they have a responsibility to give the best service they can, regardless of the position or pay scale.
Oh well. Good for you for turning around. If everyone does that, maybe in 15 years we'll make a difference.
Of course, 15 years ago, they had crummy service.
