I know mine but have been
around people that do not
know a sheep from a goat!
""Mister, why doesn't this cow have any horns?" asked the
young lady from a nearby city.
The farmer cocked his head for a moment, then began in a
patient tone, "Well, ma'am, cattle can do a powerful lot of
damage with horns. Sometimes we keep'em trimmed down
with a hacksaw. Other times we can fix up the young 'uns
by puttin' a couple drops of acid where their horns would
grow in, and that stops 'em cold. Still, there are some
breeds of cattle that never grow horns. But the reason
this cow don't have no horns, ma'am, is 'cause it's a
horse.""
Gotta laugh!!

The cow is a horse!
I know my farm animals reasonably well as I live in a rural area and my best friend has a smallholding and rescue centre for horses, ponies and donkeys and the odd sheep bless and my sons father had goats. I also shop at a local farm that has Llamas too. I prefer locally produced food and like to support the community by buying from the farms themselves rather than the supermarkets if I can.

I know alot of the farm animals by name just from looking at them also. I do know the diffewrence also between a sheep and a goat. That is funny that the woman thought the horse was a cow though. I bet there are alot of people in this world who do not know their farm animals. Everything is so fasted paced and processed for everyone these days. You hardly ever hear much about the farmers or the animals because of all of the factories that are producing things these days off of the farm.

That's a good one!
Yes, I most definately know my farm animals. I was born and raised on a farm in Missouri and now live and work on a ranch in North Dakota!
My children were always amazed at how many of their classmates knew nothing about farm animals.
