I'm curious to know....with all of these students facing graduations -- and getting all sorts of advice or inspiring speeches, this is totally the time to be giving and recieving advice. The WORST advice I ever got was when I graduated from college and I was told that I should be a Secretary. Which I was. For three grueling, bone-crushingly boring months. Then I became a writer, which worked out much, much better. lol What about you? What type of advice have you gotten that was really, truly awful?

Advice where someone thought they were being complimentary but it was very insulting. "You're a pretty girl, find your self a husband who will take care of you." This made me very angry, like because I was pretty I was automatically stupid. Or that I needed only to use my looks to get by in life. That was sooooo stupid. Looks fade if you depend on your looks all your life, what do you do when they have faded?

ladym33 -- that's like have you seen Judge Judy's book? The title is "Beauty Fades, but Dumb is Forever!" lol. I know, I know...I would hear those "get a husband" comments too and they would always make me want to scream. Sometimes they come from the most unlikely people. I once heard them from someone on a job interview! lol :)
