My arm is sore - from playing cards...

When I woke up yesterday, my arm was really sore. I wasn't sure why, but I figure it's got to be from playing cards. Sunday night we were playing a card game from our childhood - it's called Nertz. It's very fast-paced, everyone plays at the same time on each other's cards, and I really did get a work-out. I haven't played for years, but it was a lot of fun! I'm going to have to practice a bit because I used to win all the time and I came in 3rd this time. I really think it's funny that I got sore from playing cards!

It is funny how we can get sore from doing something so simple as playing cards but that just shows us what muscles we do and don't use for certain every day things.
I have never heard of that game but it does sound fun filled and interesting and would keep your brain working. I will have to look that card game up on the internet.

When we were little we were pretty sure that my grandmother made the game up - no one has ever heard of it before.
I know that my arms are not as strong as they could be, I hardly use them any more it seems.

Oh My Gosh!!! I just did a search for it and there's a whole slew of stuff! Just from glancing at it, that's the game we're playing. I'll have to tell my family that our grandmother DIDN'T make it up!

Yeah that is a bit funny to have a sore arm from playing cards. But at least you did have fun while playing cards, so it was worth the pain that you got. Now if you didn't have fun playing then it wouldn't be worth the sore arm! LOL

Yes, it was definitely worth it. We haven't played in so long, it was a lot of fun. We laugh and yell the whole way through :)

Oh, it was a BLAST!!! I never knew that so many people knew how to play Nertz. We taught many people when we were kids and all entire family plays of course. I need to brush up on it though because I didn't play as well as I used to.

Finally I found somebody on mylot that plays Nertz! Best card game ever! Anyways, some friends and family of mine started the National Nertz Association to try and keep the game alive. However, it seems Nertz is more popular than we first thought because we found alot of people in a bunch of other states and countries play it. I posted a discussion on mylot a while back about Nertz and only got one response from a person that didn't know how to play. Anyways, just wanted to let you know we are out there.

I did find some Nertz web pages, it was really funny to see! I have played for probably 37 years or so - since I was a kid! We love the game and play whenever the family gets together.
