My Great Uncle just passed away...

My great uncle, my paternal grandma's brother passed away about four hours ago. It's sad that I can't see him. He went back to the United States a couple of months ago to seek professional medical help for his cancer (of the pancreas). He died in the US. I am not sure whether his family will bring him home here in the Philippines. I hope they will. He would often look for me when I couldn't attend some family gatherings because of my work. He is one of my biggest fans. Maybe because he was one of those people who patiently took care of me when I was younger. Of course I couldn't remember all those moments because I was too young. I think I was two or three years old. But my parents always tell me how happy he was to kiss me goodbye before leaving for work and how excited he is to drop by the house when he comes home from work. He would often play with me first before heading to their house. When I got older, I rarely saw him as he spent most of his time in the United States. Yes, I am sad that he is gone. But I am happy that his suffering is over and that he is free! So long... Until we meet again...
