About an hour ago I heard a truck idling outside my house. I went to find out what was going on. There was a fire truck siting out there. The house across the street has a back yard that is unkempt and the grass, which is now brown, caught on fire. If it had not been for the quick response of the person behind them then they would have had their house burn down. So to conclude. Mow your yards and keep them clean.

Good advice. Especially as we near the 4th here in USA. We keep our yard up due to city ordinance. Its $100 an hour for them to come mow it, so yeah...

Wow, that can be scary. A house a couple doors down from my friend's house bust into flames a couple weeks ago. My friend was so scared she ran outside with her bird. I guess everyone got out fine with the exception of their two cats. I think that's sad. Never did hear why it caught on fire.

I am working on it today, as hubby really does not keep things up. We are all wet and dampish, though, so it is not a fire hazard, yet. Hopefully by the time it is hot and dry the yard will be a show place, yeah, right. I am glad that your neighbor's house did not burn.
